Re: Engine break-in....stalling at stop...overheating?

Big update: Issue is fixed !
Installed #130 main from #125, engine run cooler in overall.
Did a little adjustment for carb sync and found the minimum stable idle is 1200 rpm (increased mass maybe ? (pistons are bigger))
Re-calibrated the pilot mixture when hot with colortune...
Now it's running fine
Thanks everybody!
Finally, i can nail the long thread
Best regards,
laurent
EDIT: oh yeah and no new carbs are needed

Man that is weird. That little jet change made for all of those symptoms? The oscillating idle and everything else?
Oh well, as long as it's fixed !
Still got half a summer to ride!

Re: [SOLVED]Engine break-in....stalling...overheating?
29 Jul 2011 12:00The oscillating idle
I think it was clutch related... i could hear the primary chain rattling on first gear at red lights.
Adjusted the slack (less than 1 turn out) on the clutch lever... rattling was gone and unstable idle...
Maybe a little bit of friction from the clutch kept the engine under a little skippy load and at trouble to keep the idle right...
That's my hypothesis

I started reading this lonng post and got to page 4. SIGH
Bout page two I'm thinking this poor lad is lean.
Two needle clip positions is alot. 4 pilot turns is alot.
The bs34's
Bless those power makers, need a wide open throttle test repeated with adjustments to the pilot start out lean and open it till it pulls to redline the strongest. Those tiny jets
NEED FUEL?
WANT FACE LIKE THIS :woohoo:
how bout one for each gear :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
