The cost of this project is really starting to add up.... I am trying not to look at my paypal account or credit card balance. And I haven't even thought about carbs and a pipe yet
I still need to buy another zx750 head (for under $100 preferably!), some pistons, head bolts, 2 valve covers, cam chain sliders, radiator, water pump ect... and even thought he probably won't say anything I need to pay my buddy. I take to many freebies as it is
I am also bidding on a 08 gsxr1000 swinger... since he has the bike in his shop I might as well go ahead and have him do a suspension swap. I will be using all liter bike suspension, the weight is closer to that of my 650. The suspension sway is what was originally planned for this winter, before I add extra power I would like to make the bike more controllable
Looking at the gszr bits, I think I can sell my zrx swing arm and cover most of the costs there. The mono-shock and swinger will cost me less than decent shocks for the zrx swingarm! So good bye dual shocks, I love the look but it is too expensive to get dual shocks as good as the stock ($40 used) gsxr shock!
I also need to scrounge up some cash to get my Tracy body painted and I need to make up a seat pan for it... bugger
:S

ive always did crazy things to cars and bikes,if ya got the money and time alot of ideas can come true. but i dont like stock.head work, cams,an degreeing. carb size increase and piston upgrade.you will get ur hp from them simple upgrades, i seen this post and thought to myself i use to be that way.ive gained in performance by just using bigger carbs pipe and advancing the exhaust cam.didnt dyno it but i felt the difference.its the combination that works for ya and not over doin it.and ya it would be cool tho if this works.

electric... I may have to find an over wound stator to keep up with the power demands. I am unsure if we will use an automotive unit (BMW) or one built for a bike (aftermarket 'busa bits).
This is the most likely pump:
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-A6-TT-A3-Qu...&hash=item5ad9438288
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-ELECTRIC-WAT...&hash=item2c516f1a03
But there are other options:
www.powerhousemc.com/products/pump.htm
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-SB-chr...&hash=item3cb2423d96
I will need to contact the sellers and find the current draw and GPM they pump to decide which one to get. All of those (except the 'busa pump because of the cost) are serious options.

An enterprising fellow ought to be able to make an overwound stator, shouldn't he? It seems like simple math, but I have not tried it.
Just curious if you had contemplated this at all and choose not to for specific reasons?

Electro-sports offers an over wound stator for the charging system I run (84 gpz 3 wire permanent magnet) so it would just be easier to buy that one rather than make my own. There are so many things I want to do to this bike, I don't need to tackle stuff that is already made for me!
Also there is an aftermarket stator meant for hardlys that claims 12vt 32 amps (in an e-mail electro-sports told me theirs was only good for 18 amps at 12vts). The mechanic who is doing the block has told me before that if I buy the harley stator and a matching rotor he will make it fit
. When I want to add FI I will need to come up with some additional amps somehow!

From my friend/machinest/crazy mechanic:
now all 4 holes are bored out and the 4 head bolt holes have been moved and tapped. next i'll prolly make the plugs for the other holes and weld them up and surface the deck. and cut the head in two.
