I got the top end finished up this morning and the carbs installed. Now I just need to install the exhaust and a few others things. Here's a few pics.

she's looking great. Great job. doesnt it feel good to start putting it back together again. it wont be long now.
It may be helpfull for u and others, if u continue to repost, withing 1 post. this just makes it easier for us to fallow your project.
when u start a new post each time ,its hard for us to go back and referance the previous topics, and keep in touch with your progress.
Keep up the good work.

Mark1122, that's good advice. I will add any aditional posts to this thread.
It does feel great to be putting it back together. My dad has been helping me a bunch on my engine. It seems like ages ago we starting taking it apart. I can't wait to hear it run again!
I probably won't get much, if any, work done on it today. I'm off from work tomorrow, so with a little luck I might get it running.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow if it will run. Today I was able to put the air pods on. I also installed the header. Tomorrow I just need to hook up the throttle cables, install the muffler, and set the gas tank on. Wish me luck!

It's alive!! I finished putting it back together this morning. I then cranked the motor over with the starter until the oil light went out. After cranking a few seconds more, to insure oil was flowing to the top end, I turned the gas on. I was so surprised that it only took about one second of cranking to start!
I let it run for about 10 minutes with a fan blowing on the front of the motor. It runs good and sounds awesome with the new competition baffle. This evening after it's good and cool I will torque the head again. I still have a couple of things that I need to address before I can ride it. The little breather filter I bought won't work because it hits on the air pods. I also need to secure the side covers so they don't blow off.
I want to thank everyone here who gave me advice over the last few months. Especially LarryC, Keith1, OMR, RoyB (for the awesome deal on the carbs), and anyone else that I may have forgotten.
