Thanks, craig.
I haven't find a way to title but I started to strip the bike. Will refinish the pipe until I can afford 4-4 pipes.

Whole thing will be long project. I am planning to get 4/4 but don't know when I can afford.
I trade it for 4/4:laugh:
Maybe I can finally quit smoking and start putting money in the jar. I should have enough to get 4/4 within a year:woohoo:

Yeah, his is exactly the same way. Otto, if you wanted to get rid of that pipe what money would you be looking for to take it off of your hands. We should get together for breakfast next Sunday the 7th.

It looks basani but my friends basani doesn't have the welded on clamps. His are the stock clamps with the shims to hold them on. My guess would be a mac but there are so many varieties and some were copies of the genuine article it seems. Keep us posted. I'd like to know just out of curiousity.

This is not a basani pipe I don't think. My friend has a basani and it looks a lot different where it connects at the megaphone and the front part slips off of the head but the bungs stay on. This pipe looks similar but looking at his pipe for sure is not the same thing.

Can anybody recognize what kind of header and pipe these are?
These came with 75 Z1. End of pipe is about 3 1/2".

I ran into the same pipe but chrome finish about 3 weeks ago. When I was in Atlanta for business trip, I saw "75 KZ 900 Z1" on CL. So I went to look at it. It was 76 KZ900 but the guy thought it was 75 because it was made in late 75. The bike had same exact pipe on in chrome finish. I looked for the name plate and number but I didn't see any.

So not bassani? What it could be?

Dunno but I will post up a pic of my friends basani. What a nice setup it is. And it sounds wonderful.

Bassani is on the right...note the 'S' shaped mid-pipe and the flanges to connect the mid-pipe to the collector. This Bassani is for a GPz1100 and I have not seen one on a Z1 so perhaps earlier Bassani's were different than the later editions (my GPz edition)

Interesting for the POS 1978 KZ1000 I picked up has that exact same exhaust... Even rusted like yours...   Anyhoot, I was under the impression it was an old Kerker.

One thing interesting is the head coupling where the exhaust plate is tacked to the risers. The other thing is the rectangular and slotted rear mounting configuration.

What about an old Hooker pipe... Possibly that's what these are?

Well definitely not a Hooker pipe then or for that matter a Denco... Hmmm....

Unfortunately mine is so rusted, (can't even split it apart) no way to find any stamping....

Ah well, the thing is toasted anyways so in the junk pile it goes... Speaking of my pipe not yours...
