I've been looking for information about this kind of Bassani pipe and baffle but no luck.
Will try to refinish it anyway when I get to it.

Nice otokar, nice. So this is a keeper for sure then. I would love to find a pipe like that laying around.
I believe I have one in my yard shed (which is now buried under snow) but mine is Chrome. I might be willing to get rid of it. From what I remember, it is in very nice shape.

At least that's what my mechanic tells me, sorry you hit a rough spot. We all feel that way sometimes. The joy and feeling of accomplishment vintage bikes bring is often tempered with expensive mistakes.

This is exactly why I'm not planning on doing much more to my 900. If I can dig up another one I'll spend the cash, but for now, I love having this bike and don't want it to end.
Sorry to hear about the bad luck. I'm sure someone here should have some insight to the cams.

They said exhaust was good and that they would do one cam at their cost. I figured why not? It's not the full price and even though the cam bearings need replaced now which I am sure won't be cheap it'll get done. Gonna do a street back cut on the trans and going to weld and do the business with the crank in that perhaps I may go bigger in the near future or turbo the bike. The head is going to get done nicely ported and polished and matched to the j boots along with bigger stainless intakes and titanium springs, new guides and a heavy duty chain and rollers. I am in to this thing until she gets done. The powder coating and stainless engine bolts along with the polishing I have done will look SuWeet. I'm not going to sweat a few dollars lost. I think that might have happened from doing the toys for tots. So cold and the oil I didn't change from the 20 50 and then getting stuck and overheating. Whatever. Such is life.
Sorry to hijack this post. I was just a little depressed yesterday thinking about all the money spent on the rebuild and all of the money I will finish spending but in the long run she will be a piece of art that can scoot with the big boys and will make me very proud until the day I have to kill some sap for trying to steal it from me.
So maybe not to totally jack the post. I have a set of daytona pipes, anyone interested? Could trade a decent left ltd side cover for them.
