Well other than the piston bore assuming your using original cylinder, you can get pretty much everything you have listed at a local shop thus savings to you...

Don't get me wrong, FBG or preferably Larry C for deeper engine build, especially on the head work. Larry also does complete engine rebuilds but this would be for serious engine performance.

For a minor build as listed, hell do it yourself/local machinist and save some big $$$... Send the head to Larry for the mild valve/seal/guide/spring P&P rebuild $550.

Way I'd go for sure for this would be under $1.5K
Pistons/rings complete hardware ~ $500
Bore ~ $80 per hole
Gaskets (cylinder base, head and valve cover) ~$100

or for complete cylinder, piston/rings/gaskets...
www.overstockpartsgalore.com/engine1007.html

Head/valve/port & polish ~$700 pending all want accomplished.

Hell for an additional $500, throw in a set of mild performance cams.... Then you'll truly feel the difference in that old girl.... Hang on... :woohoo:

$80 per hole? is that what most of you pay for boring cylinders? To bore my 750 cylinders over for the 810 kit, it was just under $30 per cylinder

Here in Az, $80 bucks a hole... I know, rediculous.

Other than broken cylinder fins which I was quoted at $300, add $320 for boring, hell, main reason I went with the overstock parts kit. Already included a refurbished and bored cylinder...;)

Not to mention they also provided the cylinder gaskets.
Pretty much received the cylinder for ~ $100 complete... How can you beat that...

FBG's specialty is dragrace bikes. They surely can build you a hot street motor and you will get what you pay for but FBG may be overkill. Paul will give you a quote on what you want, call or email them.If Paul's out golfing or getting a haircut, ask for Kevin.

There are often ways to do something cheaper, but quality is always pricy. I would believe APE, Larry, FBG and many others can do what you want and have it perform well. Since FBG is local to you; your going to save $$$$ by going with them (shipping a motor is not cheap).

Call all 3 and get prices, but I find it hard to believe the other two will be able to undercut FBG enough to negate shipping costs.

it would be like me calling hawkins construction here in omaha to pour my new driveway, sure they could do it but it might be a litle hard parking all their stuff in my yard! :woohoo:

If your local, Jim has a cylinder head shop in Buffalo, Jim ran a Top Fuel Nitro Kaw for years.

He does all my head work and cylinder boring

I had Gast bore my cyls, and supply my 1200cc MTC pistons.
Larry did my head.
You can’t go wrong with either 1.
