i listened to the youtube clip before reading the last below staement....and was thinking the same thing, when you had the camera down on the chain cover area i could hear it clearly, the starter gear or a bolt working free in the alternator, stator and cover ect.. or somthing like that.....when you pull that cover i bet you see the grind spot and culprit....any shavings in your oil???....unbelievable bike...just really...really niceOldSchoolHr wrote:
Few days ago I took off alternator cover but I didnt pull off rotor and starter clutch. I have visualy inspected is anything broke or loose and the only thing that seemed suspicious, big gear behind starter clutch has a little left-right play (direction rotor-casing)maybe 1-2mm
I dont know is it suposed to be ok or not. Everything works.

from the sound of vid, starter clutch area would be my guess....i dont think that big gear should have that much play either....i would get an ape manual cam chain tensioner also...but then again, what the hell do i know....nice bike by the way......

I would bring it to TDC on 1&4 and yank the tensioner. See if the plunger is sticking.

Few days ago I pull off valve cover and check everything again. Chain has tension and it seams ok. I pull of chain tensioner and reset it. It is clean and works just like new.
To avoid any doubt about cam chain I bought a new one, Tsubaki, so I will replace it in next few days.
The only thing that I cant see is front chain guide. When I was rebuilding head I found that guide was broken so I replaced it with new one. I cant see is it broken again but that would be weird cos I passed only 3-4000 miles since then.
