you can run the turbo with the 10.25:1 pistons, youll just have to run lower boost.whats the history on the rest of the motor? B)can you post some better shots of the fuel injection parts and details? B)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Gday Plummen,il try and post some shots tonight after i research a bit more on photo re sizing. As for the injection stuff the injectors are after market i dont know what brand but my mate said they were to suit a nissan. The plenum is home made alloy we just bought the injector blocks pre made,i will have to make a better plenum as this one is too thick to fit.Il probably take the carb manifolds off and make the plenum so it bolts straight to the head bringing the injectors closer and leaving more room for the turbo. Its a MR Turbo kit so its made with a small space for the original plenum which used to run a zenith carb.My mate just replaced the carb set up with an engine management system made here in Australia called Microtech and made his own fuel rail and manifold etc.It made 290 rear wheel hp on a 1135 gs on modest boost and the computer has a factory chip in it set with a "basic" program to suit a four cylinder bike of those ccs so it shouldnt be too hard to tune it to a 1045 cc bike with the Micro tech handset. The kz engine has the 1045 wiseco kit, larger inlets matched to gpz fuel injected manifolds, dyna 2000 and coils, standard crank(i only want to run low boost i still want to be able to do trips on it without worrying wether its gunna throw a rod or something!)heavy duty clutch springs and plates(i got a spare crank so if this one dies ill weld the spare and use it in the rebuild)stock z1 cams aswell.I will o ring the barrells and get a copper head gasket .080 base plate should drop it to 8.5/:1 if i need to do that i will, what ya think?

sounds workable to me,as long as youre not running too much back tire i think youll be ok with the small crank.has any chassis work been done to the bike? B)

Its a 76 z1000 frame with the usual added bracing, progressive rear shocks and 900 swingarm.Ive got a few gs1100 swing arms around if you think i need something a bit stiffer. My mates hayabusa has a turbo kit made by our mate that did mine,he runs 11:1 JE pistons, cometic head gasket(no wired barrells)yoshi race cams, ported head i dont know if his crank is welded probably is,it made 383 rear wheel hp and is street driven with no problems for 4 or more years now(lifts the front at 270 kph at 18 psi boost)he thinks 10.5:1 with stock crank and head gasket should be ok as i only want around 7 psi boost to avoid a grenade happening. What do you think about this theory, should i wire my barrells and run a copper head gasket(i at first assumed i would have to but now im wondering:blink: )Oh yeah and ive got a 16 inch hog rim with a 130 tyre on the back.Ive got the MR Turbo water injection system with it too(the busa runs water inj aswell). Also forgot to say my throttle body is on the intake of the turbo where the carb was as it is a draw through turbo. Thanks for the advice:cheer:
