Hello to all, thinking of putting the turbo kit from my gs 1100 onto my z1b as its time to cut back on toys(too much rego costs etc)and as id rather the kzs the suzi might have to go,so heres the story.Mr turbo headers and link pipe, rebuild rayjay that came with mr turbo kit, microtech computer, bosch injectors and fuel pump, custom made plenum and throttle body,mr turbo water injection, etc, etc.
Never had the suzi running with the turbo stuff so basically its like new.I can modify the headers and stuff to suit the kz myself as i have access to a engineer shop.Questions are- 1.can i run stock 1000 pistons on low boost as i already have a set here, what size spacer plate do you think ill need for say 8-9:1 compression(i dont know what stock comp ratios are for kz900).
2.i have a set of wiseco 1045cc 10.5:1 pistons can i mill the dome down to drop compression?
Dont want to run high boost just want to up the power and may as well use the turbo stuff as ive already got it lying around, cheers for your opinions guys.

No spacer plate is needed for the pistons. They are appx. 8.5:1 stock. Save time and buy a exhaust pipe. Because you can make it fit, doesn't mean it will work. Your suzuki plenum
isn't going to fit. The computer and injectors, who knows? Maybe you would be better off, with a simple old school, Z1r type set up?

My mates an alloy welder so making another plenum wont be hard as he made this one for the suzi, the injectors and computer are aftermarket so can be used for any make ill just have to get him to help me re-map it to suit the smaller ccs i guess, your probably right about the headers though could be easier maybe building a set from scratch or try and buy a set and link pipe for a kz.Do you know if there is a thread with the old z1r type you are talking of,thanks.
Ill try to post some pictures soon,my hard drive fried itself a few days ago and we lost the lot, only got this new computer yesterday

I just saw a used exhaust on the net for sale. It was old and rusted, but a mr turbo! I'm not sure, I think it was under "yahoo images" kawasaki exhausts. If you want pictures of turbo pipes? I'm your guy. I am sure that I have, alot of them. You might check out some of my latest posts on "Misc Motorcycle Photos" There is a black Z1r with a mr turbo kit. Was this old style pipe, called a spyder pipe? There are newer styles.........

Wow, those setups look like it'd be very warm on the legs there! 900 degree EGT's mere inches from a leg seems... interesting to say the least!

Heres a few quick pics of my stuff, sorry about the quality but you get the idea.
If i take about 2mm of the diameter of the header flanges with a die grinder they will bolt up to the kz head with a little help they are very close, which surprised me,the link pipe fits pretty well i will definately have to make another plenum as this one is way to thick although it did fit my manifolds(probably because i have the larger GPZ1100 manifolds). If i used the wiseco 1045 pistons do you know what thickness spacer plate i might have to run to drop compression from 10.5:1 to 8.5:1?

You can get a free program called Pixresizer that resizes images on your computer. I upload all my pics to Photobucket.com and they have an option to resize them also. I usually just size them to 640X800 and it works great for posting pics on this forum.
