Sure you can put the pick-up on any plug wire. I still think it is carb related. But we will see....Russ

Here is a quick way to make sure the intakes are sealed up and not leaking. Spray starting flood around each intake manifold and if the RPM increases your intakes are leaking which would affect your fuel mixture.

Evening fellas. Problem solved. Put my timing light on plug wires 2 and 3 and no light at 4K RPM. On wires 1 and 4 it was fine. Unbolted the 2/3 coil and wouldn't you know, one of the 2 wires fell out of the connector holding it to the coil. Put a new terminal on it, warmed er up, and presto, runs perfect.

Grumpy, Nice. on a different topic, on whim scanned tool kits and their repective components. It's been a week or two so have forgotten particulars, but Kaw P/N 56007-1021 seems to be pretty close to orig. kit.retails' for @$70.00. I reserve my "anoyance" factor w/ parts personell for my projects, but you might persue if intrested. luck G
