I have been reading through these posts with interest. I have a kz1000 k2 (ltd) 1982 that hasn't been cranked in years. I have a set of 1100 pistons that I am going to put in it and get it back on the road. I took the head and barrels off today and will be having the head looked at by a machine shop.
I marked the front (exhaust) cam with some disk brake quiet stuff that is red so that I wouldn't mix them up.
But I want to know how to tell the intake cam from the exhaust cam. Is there any difference between them? They are stock cams.
I also want to verify that they were in there right to start with since it seemed to pop back through the carbs some times.
Thanks.
Kirk

According to BuyKawasaki both cams have the same part number (12044-1027), so they should be the same.
