Congratulations Jack! Well deserved tribute to a well maintained and traveled KZ. Can you give us some stats on how many states your bike has visited and now many miles you have logged on it. Love how you and your wife share the same passion for travel and motorcycles. Great way to enjoy life.

Dr Gamma, you caught me sleeping at the handle bars my friend, LOL. The night I queued bulej58's bike for BOTM, my brain was fried from having to read and study a Physics chapter on sound waves so I could help my son cram for his exam on the next day. I'm sure DoctoRot wasn't too cross about it.

19 states so far, but we booked 6 nights camping in West Yellowstone and are hoping to pickup 4 more soon.
I got the bike in 82 with 10,000 miles and put another 25,000 before pushing it into a corner of the garage, I figured that when I could afford it I was going to get a Harley like all my friends did but that never happened, kids and mortgage got in the way,
fast forward 18 years, by the wonders of the internet I found you guys, wow!
I now have 92,600 on the bike and I need to do some small things before riding season but all in all she is running real good and it has an awful lot to do with you folks, thank you KZrider's!

Improvements over the years,
Timken roller bearings for the triple tree ( noticeable improvement, smoother steering )35 yrs
Grand Tourismo grips ( 35 years old )
K&N air filter ( simple to clean, lasting forever )
LTD seat ( looking at alternatives )
Halogen headlight ( much brighter )
VHT roll bar and chassis painted frame (60,000 and still looks good IMO)
Progressive shocks with heavy springs ( They work for me )
Progressive fork springs ( noticeable improvement )
Heavy fork oil ( I like a stiff suspension )
530 chain setup (on my second set, I like em)
76 VM26SS carbs ( better performance but less gas mileage then original)
Modern regulator/rectifier combo ( working well) 40,000 miles
Liska cam chain tensioner and idler sprockets
Dual disk front brakes ( big help stopping )
Aftermarket mirrors ( less vibration, better view )
Back to black, stock body parts
Avon Roadrider tires ( Good grip, I get 10,000 miles on the back, more on the front, I hope they keep making them)
Sealed battery
Jardine exhaust ( just enough noise to sound good when getting on the throttle )

Seems nominations are down. We rely on input from our members to chose BOTM not pick and choose what we like. I've seen some pretty good contenders from some of our new members. So lets hear it for next months BOTM. :woohoo:
