Keeping my fingers crossed that the rectal sphincter just gave up trying to start it and left it on the side of the road... maybe a little ignition switch damage is all there is.

Gotta try to set up an ignition and steering lock combo on that 650. Maybe use a 550 ignition switch and weld on a tab so the steering will lock.

I don't like the separate steering lock... people forget it and drive off with the steering locked.

Glad to hear she's been found.
Shame on the towing company for wanting $800 for storage etc.
It's not like it takes up as much space as a car.

Glad to hear the bike showed up again - agree with Les though, the $800 towing bill sounds like daylight robbery.

Btw, that center stand stop in the third pic is pure genius, great idea.

This may be one of those cases in which a basic disk brake lock would've deterred the guy.

Absolutely! Even a cable lock through the wheel would slow him down as he cut though it, but a lock like mine below presents a serious challenge to any thief. Couple that with using the stock front fork lock and you have a serious deterrent. Determined thieves can still steal the bike, but they must carry it away rather than roll it. Ed

That is true, ed. If they are determined to take it, it is theirs. Locks and such will deter the casual thief, though.

Whatever you do, don't be as trusting as I once was. I learned the hard way not to let somebody test drive the cycle your selling.
