If the things I've read are true, it aint exactly been easy street since its been welcomed to your world. (previous statement is kudos, I'm a firm believer that the red mark on the tach is where your supposed to shift!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Oh it hasn't, it's my play toy and I play hard. I'm really surprised it didn't let go sooner. I'm on my 2nd front tire and 3rd back if that's any indication of it's life with me. I agree on the redline on a stock motor, they don't make the power up there and stock valve springs don't like it much past. The head was built to be bullit proof, shim under buckets, .500 lift springs, titanium retainers and stainless valves. I ran .430 lift exhaust and .470 lift intake and it made power up high, came on like a 2 stroke at 7500 and it spent quite a bit of time up there. :woohoo:

Okay, got a little free time, waiting on parts. Just a little update but I will tell you now, the bolt in monoshock and motor swapping ain't friendly. Yeah, I know, I'm telling you where my parts come up short. Had to unbolt the shock, take the right side shock mount out because it is part of the upper right hand back motor mount. Not overwhelming but none the less, had to do it.
Started lapping valves and setting stem heights so I should have the exhaust side done tomorrow evening. Then it's do the intakes, get the timing chain in and hopefully, fired by friday evening.

Also head is cleaned up and I just touched lapped the seats with good valves to make sure I didn't screw a seat up, all seems good and ready to lap and reassemble. Turns out the valves I had were stock and this is 1mm over so I'm real glad I ordered the exhaust too.

Also got a chance to clean the chassis up a little with the motor out.

Got all the parts in and they were the right parts! Exhaust side of head done, bottom end done and layed in the chassis. I should be able to have the cases bolted in and the the top end buttoned up tomorrow. Game plan is to have it ready to fire by Saturday afternoon, provided I can get out of work. If not, I'm going to be one tired person Sunday for the Turkey Run meet up.
