Picked the bike up today guys. Paid 1K for it. Overall its in really good shape, but will need a little TLC. I will snap some picks tomorrow, Im gonna drop the carbs and give it a once over tomorrow, and see if we can't get her fired up this weekend.

Life has taught me no matter if you paid 10.00 or 1000.00 for your first buzz you will spend many years and many times that with your new addiction.

Oink has helped me out many times and as dealers go he got the good stuff! Some of it goes for crazy money but he always has it!

Congrats, Boostable! I was wondering if you had purchased it or not. I was tempted to check with you a few days ago to see if you still intended to buy it or not. If not, I may have asked you to do me a solid and hook me up. Good choice man. Looks like everything there (new handle bars, seat maybe). Its the little missing things that can easily add $500.00 to the initial purchase price.

Thanks guys, she is in pretty good shape and will make a nice rider for sure. Im gonna try and keep it as stock as possible.. (did I actually just say that?) Here is the good, bad and the ugly..

The Bad.. The cylinder has one broken fin on the left edge, the tach needle came off, still in the gauge, No blinkers, cracked tail light and the worse thing I found was that the tank had been Kreemed. That stuff is CRAP! Took it out this afternoon, and I have no idea why this tank was sealed in the first place, it is very solid, and its nice and clean now.

The Ugly.. The passenger backrest, the handle bars and the paint needs some help. Not terrible, but I will repaint it for sure.

The Good.. Had a nice header, we are thinking maybe carpenter? Just not sure. Bike is clean otherwise, and as an added bonus it has a Dyna S installed!

Today I removed the backrest, changed the bars, and removed the tank sealer from the tank.

M.E.K. Worked like a champ. Full gallon to start, let it soak and sloshed for about 1~2hrs. Then 1/2 gallon to finish it up.

After that I cleaned it up with a bath with Oxalic acid (wood bleach). It works really well to clean up any rust in the tank. I did both my tanks and it worked really well on the J tank as well.

Because of the Kreem I wanted to go through the tank and carbs before I even tried. Carbs are done and so is the tank, so I charged the battery last night. Will through some fuel in it this morning and give it a go.

I will keep that in mind on the seat...
