What carbs came on this bike? 26 or 29's?

Twelve hundred is a great price for a running KZ900. Looks in great shape. I'm from Florida too and I do check Craigslist from time to time. Mostly for KZ900 or KZ1000 parts. But I glance at the bikes as well. You should see the crap out there that sellers are asking $2000 for. And a the decent looking ones are in the greater than $3000 range. And the thing is, there is not many out there at all to choose from in Florida (I would have thought otherwise in year round riding state). As long as its titled with his name as the owner (which I have no doubt a 15 yr owner is), I would jump on it.

I buy it in a heartbeat if it was localto me. I'd set it next to the 3 I have that are not selling in Buffalo. And start another project!
That is not a Basani pipe. The corbin is worth $175. The stock one is probally real nice. Sissy bar is worth $25. Sell stuff on ebay, recoup some $$
The head looks cleaner than the barrels, might have had a recent valve job, chrome wheels are clean! fenders are too, front is an LTD. The aluminum has been kept up on with polish. You can buy blinkers for about $50. Plastic covers are there with emblems. That chain gaurd is nice. Looks like real K/N air filters, not the cheap emgo's.

So much for the all original KZ900. I see one or two bolts that have not been goofed with and the rest has had a hard life. Very hard to believe someone would own a motorcycle from new and do that much damage to it. I don't mean to say it's a total loss and may be worth the $1200 but the all original dream sitting garaged for 35 yrs it isn't I'm afraid.

Marty,not a Bassani-that pipe looks like the right exit Denco megaphone I've got on my streetbike. Good pipes especially w 29's & 1075... If it matters to find out what it is,they usually stamped Denco on the rear foootpeg mounting tab.

$1200 seems pretty fair if he can start it for you and he has the title in his name. Don't fall for the old just needs the carbs cleaned routine if if doesn't start. That's a huge trap. Like I said if it don't start then it don't get a 4 figure price tag.

Too bad you live in Florida for this deal. If you were somewhere that had a winter, I would say wait a month and offer him the number on the sidecover. Winter discount always helps the shrewd motorcycle buyer.

If he's your bud, and you want to shoot straight with him, then give him the $1200. It's worth that. If it starts... and has the title...

i think it appears to be a very clean bike!! should be worth 1200.00 easy.. as long as you have a job and the cash its a good buy... at that price you can repaint to your taste and have a very nice KZ900.. i would bet it runs as good as it looks...
when you buy!! keep us up to date on your mods you do to it.. ebay can be your friend!!!

oink johdson is the shit and he is the reason many of my builds on hold have full parts bins of killer stuff when i get a rare kz save project...he makes it happen...i make a meager wage and he sells and ships 100% good era gear..in top condition for low bids like a swiss clock,,,
