another thing that keeps re-routing through my dreams scheme..

......is the "what way" the ride will be ridden...one straight relay?...or a season??????....and then some ,and even even some more if needed ..... (my favorite) make it slow and go...but fast if brash...timing is allowed and encouraged...but not rewarded or put on a pedestal.. and an ltd 250 doing a block for keeps sake between leggers would be just as welcome as an egli in full nitro turbo....

as i see folks getting the local tour and a meal and shower if needed or possible for their host...mixed in with many hand offs necessitated by folks with a nick of time to get involved ....pressed to get back for mandatory work schedule...family event ect..
are folks seeing us chit chatting along the road side and a no man hug fist bump then burn rubber...or rolling a fatty and following the local for a meal and then pushing on in a hurry to the next leg
will there be a phone number and we talk as we get near to leaving /near the guy
and on the phone in decent advance promise to keep the time and date a whether we are gonna go a leg as a tour ,or ride home solo ...or dice for a few counties

or does one meet the right hand member and when he/she leaves...take care of home/work /money matters ..then i the following weekend...or when it is only then, able to be furthered along.... hit the next leg to pass off..calling and dealing with the left hand rider

..for some remote riders ,life may need some attention before turn around effort could be re-launched...and the free way to hold off then restart may help to include those who cant get weeks off at the drop of a hat...or a second vacation to burn ...

i will kick the west coast tour off by taking my bikek out on boat and bringing it ashore in true Celt fashion....unless others fancy a dual

I suggest an number of captains be anointed who will assign pass off duties. Don't try to set it up like a relay race. There will be some dead days, and that's OK.

Lets talk about what's to be transferred at each hand off. When it's all done we'll auction off the the tail piece or side covers for the benefit of some agreed upon cause.

Some of us ride pretty light, so a tailpiece, engine, or other bulky "token" may be a bit much to carry - small is good. It would be cool if whatever makes the trip has enough paper to log the rider, state, date, and mileage. Also, for folks making the handoff, posting pics would be nice.

I'm in. Central VA. If you're going North-South in VA one or two guys could do it. If you're going East-West, it's a long damm state and some help would probably be needed.

What about something every rider could sign or otherwise make their own?

I was thinking of a vintage Kawasaki advertisement or something? But 48+ signatures might not fit and and would ruin the ad.

So maybe what we do is roll an ad in a small cardboard tube along with a couple pieces of paper. Every rider along the way signs the piece of paper and takes a picture of themselves with the ad.

Pics could be posted here on KZ Rider. At the end the signatures, photos and vintage ad could be mounted and framed and then get auctioned to the highest bidder on ebay as a fundraiser for KZRider.com
