IS IT RUDE TO BLOW BY A HARLEY was created by lemo32
I have been riding for a few years now, I consider myself to be a safe and corteous rider, but and here comes the but, sometimes I want to hammer on it, is it rude for me to blow by the Harleys, and crap Honda cruisers, I dont mean to be rude but a 50 mph put put isnt my style of riding, I dont have to break land speed records but I do like to have fun, but at the same time I dont want to be a dick, damn, lol getting old and considering everyones feelings sucks.

I once followed an HD rider ( pirate type ) for an extended period of time while on my CB400F = a very long time ago. I cruised along behind him for ages and could no longer take it, went by him wound upto the ton....hands off bars, off to the side like I was paddling a canoe. Stopped a ways up the road to grab a pack of smokes, came back out of the store and Cpt. Black Beard was pulling in on his HD...he never even glanced at me LOL.

You would have to go a long way to get to the level of rudeness displayed by a lot of Harley riders in this town. I don't know how many times I've been standing somewhere talking to someone and have some idiot on a Harley ride by real slow reving the engine every 2 seconds. I really don't get that. It's one thing to blip the throttle on downshifts but to rev it for no reason to me is really rude when you can clearly see that someone is there. I was always under the impression that if you had to constantly rev the engine there was something wrong with it and should be fixed. I really amazes me how much different attitudes are once you get south of the Daytona Beach area. It is wierd to go from a town where people rarely wave to other motorcyclists to one where even the people on scooters are waving. I guess that's why I tend to ride south when I go out for a ride.

I guess it would depend on what you mean by "Blow By". If you're blowing by another bike while in your own lane, that ain't no big thing. But if your in their lane when you "Blow By" I suggest you keep on gettin on, cause they're probably more than a little "Oinked"

I would blow by them for fun, just because they're on a Harley!

I swear to God, it's like I live in a trailer of common sense, and stare out the window at a tornado of stupidity.

Rude to blow by a Harley?

I thought that was a requirement for driving a kawasaki!

I have a z440, belt drive, 6 speed. Its a surprising little bike in that it will roll up to about 100 mph or so. A freind of mine bought a brand new Street Bob a few years back and my other bike was out of comission at that time. So I went out riding with him when he got it. I passed him on the highway and thought he was just enjoying the view.... here he was actually running all out. I didn't expect that.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.
