Oh, you say that's doesn't exist? Yeah, right. How many times have you heard, "So, when are you going to 'move up' to a HOG?" Move up? Excuse me? I'll buy what I please and not get insecure when someone else dares to not ride/dress exactly like me. Another problem the lemmings share is they ride exactly alike. Is there some school that teaches them or is it monkey see, monkey do? And then the majority of them are so self absorbed that they come to the conclusion that EVERYONE enjoys their loud pipes crapola at all hours.

Owning a HOG is the highest demonstration of insecurity.

I live in a rural area on a State Highway, and those useless POS drive by with their straight pipes rattling my windows and interrupting conversations. Since the State won't go for my "Open season, shotgun only" proposal, I guess the only thing left is to make fun of them and laugh at them when they're deaf. I see one non-harley with loud pipes to every 100 Harleys with loud pipes.

Unfortunately my driveway runs uphill to the road, so I can't use the "Tire got away from me and accidentally rolled into the road" thing :(

My father told me he once came here and my uncle was sitting with a bag of ice cubes and a slingshot. He had set up a row of cans on the fence about 30 foot away. When my father asked him what he was doing he said he was practicing for the neighbor. The neighbor had a straight shotted street glide. I'm not sure if he ever carried it out but near as I can tell he might have. You might want to try that steell. Just make sure to get generic non-traceable ice cubes.

Its not just Harley riders, but they are the biggest offender. Here is my view, and it comes from groing up with my brother. He is 20 years older than me, grew up in the 70's, has a beard half way down to his belt and he IS a BIKER. A real one. His saddle bags are 20 year old cracked leathers he bought at agarage sale and his jacket is faded (came froma flea market). He wears $2 sunglasses from the drug store and I've seen him wrap a shop rag on his head when its cold out. His friends pretty much look the same. His daily driver is a '53 pan head and his chopper was originally built in 1966 by Satan's Cycle Works. It has one drum brake in the back and the dry clutch is operated with a mouse trap. Mechanical ignition, manual advance, no starter, etc, etc.

So when we are out messing around on the bikes the "lemmings" just look dumb to me. To me I just see a whole bunch of dressed up fancy wannabe's. Looks fake, they should knock it off.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Hmmm, seems you need a neighbor across the road from you who needs to send you tires now and then, Steve.

The justification to these yutzes is always the same--"Loud pipes save lives"--yeah, whatever. Far be it below their "manhood" to actually take a rider course and learn how to control the vehicle they're on. Just this noon some idjit was uptown saving more lives than Jesus. I hadn't seen him on a bike before so it must be new to him and he was making sure everyone knew it.

Look, I don't care what anyone wants to ride. It's the constant attention whoring and apparent insecurity when not everyone else has the "need" to be just like them that gets my goat.

Earlier this week I was in Reno, NV for a company function and on Monday night we toured the National Auto Museum (very cool for any gearhead) and in the area featuring post WWII they have an Indian inline 4 with a sidecar and some H-D something or other. I took several pics of the Indian, the H-D just never found my viewfinder.

Back to the Super Glide, I found this review. Seems the Glide isn't the only sheriff in town.
