All I know is those old CB750s could be fast. Back in the old NMRA drag race series I remember Ed Warren running 10.1 sec runs on a CB750. No idea how big engine it actually had but that was pretty impressive.

Wow, Eddie Warren.Ed was a regular at our home track St.Thomas Dragway in Sparta Ontario. There were a bunch of very quick Honda CB's at St.Thomas but Ed's was the quickest on gas /carbs. If I remember correctly he ran the 10.1 at Fremont at the NMRA race with a 915 cc. motor maybe 1000.No offset bores yet in those days and don't think it was stroked.Jed Snyder had a lot to do with making that bike fly.

Kaw S/C racer Dan Rockey from Barrie,Ontario told me he sees Ed once in a while but he's completely out of racing these days.

i think a.p.e is making a 1000 cc kit for the single stick honda's, m.t.c used to i have put a couple of those ones together for some customers but that was many moon's ago with 12.5 to compression on the street that motor would'nt live long running regular fuel. maybe if it was running alcohol but it sounds from the way this guy drinks there wouldn't be enough left over for the bike.

We will see if he actually installs any of this...he's a decent guy, and a good neighbour, but kind of full of himself...and talks to damn much, kinda like my old lady...

Plummen, that's gotta be Dale-PeeWee was never that big ! To get back to the original ?,it was quite possible to hot rod the CB 750.We had a bunch around here including a pair of 900cc.cammed and piped CB's that could easily keep up with the Z1's.Almost.

I believe it, but he says that all that work he's done puts out 126 hp to the wheel...I don't think my bike with that work would put that out at the crank! He loves his ride, and I get that, but he's just always been silly about his choppers.

As I mentioned we were hammered, but he spent over an hour explaining how comfortable sitting on 1" of foam directly on your tailbone was, but then for another hour how having an uncomfortable bike you can't sit on makes you hardcore, and a real "rider" lol. ah well, something to look forward to next summer. I'l dust him off once I get back from riding across the country in July.

maybe it was 126 psi on last compression test!

My dates are up in the air still, I can make it so that we do cross... I plan on going as far as Calgary, then south to Lethbridge. I will be stopping in Regina to see my brother as well, other than that I will just sleep when and where I can so we can meet in the middle and have a beer or 5

I was born and raised in Lethbridge. Going to a family reunion in Saskatoon the last weekend of July. Not sure yet of the route. Last August I rode the 900 to Lethbridge and Calgary via the Cascade, Kootenay, and Rockie mountain in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. What a fantastic ride. Some of the passes are summer only, and the roads were made for motorcycles. The Logan pass in Montana is 6400 ft. The old Kaw purred like a kitten. Well, maybe a little louder. But I got new mufflers since then. I am enjoying seeing your progress on the rebuild. Don't be too hard on the old Honda. I have a soft spot for the cb750s too.

I will be coming from the other side of the country, so I get to go through prairies, yay! My cousins live in Coaldale, I am guessing you know where that is. I will get in touch with you next spring/summer when I am planning the trip, if I forget then PM me...lol

You know I have nothing against honda's either...when I was moving up from my 550 spectre I almost got a cb900 custom... I am glad I didnt, I don't want another hundred pounds to deal with! it's just he had a cocky honda attitude that's not called for. I have heard this much, and can honestly say I believe that kawi guys are the least annoying of any fanboys I have encountered.
