I saw that yesterday and agree with you guys but if I had the money I would go after it to have "another" '80 F1 for parts. Don't run across them too often.

The fella did all that to it, but then..."i couldn’t bring myself to pay Kawasaki 6.99 for one spacer"
makes sense to get almost done with major work, get real close to being done, then say good enough. makes you wonder what corners were cut when he was inside the motor?

i remember doing an indicated 140 and some change on my 1170 years ago with a whole hell of a lot more motor than he could ever imagine feeling like the skin was being pulled from my bones on an unfairinged bike,done 160 on a couple sport bikes total night and day differance .if he has that 650 geared to pull 140 and still have more in it it sure as hell aint gonna be yanking th front wheel up without a floor jack under the motor!

if that bike will do 140 i will eat my hat.

a few of us here have spent the $ to build a middleweight bike and there is no damn way mine will hit 140.

i have a 784 kit, a sick ported head from super bike mike and andrews .350 cams and 29's on my little girl.

and there is no way i'm hitting 140.
maybe at bonneville flats with 10 miles to get up to speed first.
but even then i would be running out of gear before motor.

wishfull thinking and hoping someone will believe him is what i'm thinking.

kinda a nice looking bike though.

and who goes through all that and "can't bring himself to spend $6.99 for a shim" ?

valve lash is just first year stuff.

I urge you all to be strong and not make up a fake ebay ID, bid $3000 for his bike, never to be heard from again. That would be wrong and I would be very angry at you. Then this nice young man would have to relist it over and over again. Now that would be a shame

hey guys 1st off kz650 have been well known to do 120. secondly i'll agree with the guy about the speedo, speedos on the olderbikes have also have been known to be off. all that i can say is i dont want to ruffle any feathers but i have done several wheelies on this bike. ofcourse u do have to pop the clutch and as far as the speed all i know is that when i looked down the needle was at 140. so hey anyway u guys are the pros though and have been doing this for years so say your thing. personally ive loved this websight cuz of all the support and knowledge i get from members. one last thing....lose some weight and maybe you will get close to '140'

p.s. if you like donating money to kawasaki go for it....i dont.

140 MPH, right in his dreams. Maybe if he changed the "spacer" shim, he could get 150 MPH.
