Otto I just picked up my copy yesterday at Barnes and Noble. I had asked for it a couple of weeks ago and they had not recieved them yet. They called me about a week ago to let me know they had it but I just now got the time to pick it up. Looks pretty nice but cost me $8.00 I was sort of surprized I was expecting more like $5.00.

Well guys I got my copy. I must say I am a bit disappointed. I expected something a bit different. The mag is more about riding and riders than about the bikes. Personally I am not interested in vintage bike racing and the guys who are into it, as I would be into the nitty gritty of the vintage bikes. I would like to see a mag which gets more into the technical aspects of the vintage bikes much more than the pomp and circumstance around them. If a bike in a article was restored, than show us, instead of the pretty pictures after the outcome. Show the detail. Keep the celebrity info to a minimum unless the names mean something like Edie Losson, Rob Muzzy, Pops Yoshimura, Russ Collins, Kenny Roberts and so forth. The bikes shown, such as the vintage Hondas, the CBX and the Kawi Triples are nice, now we have to see how they got to the condition in which they are. The mag has potential as long as it heeds the readers. These are only my two bits because of my technical interest. I am sure someone will think that the mag is fantastic in their eyes. I just don't think I got my $8 worth. At this point I would only buy another copy if I had a look at it on the stand and something caught my eye. Would I subscribe to it? AHHHH---- not just yet. but time will tell. I definitely would not write it off just yet.

agreed, the biggest reason to why im a motorcyclist and CW subscriber is to read the engineering articles of things like the desmo valvetrain and the tear down of Victory's Vision (to name a few). With that said i think it's our duty to let them know what we want and to let them know that we will support them by buying the magazine. I want articles where they make barn finds and do budget restores and i also think it would be fun to have hot rod (or rat rod) articles and lastly to have rat races where they find a bike and have a budget (say 500 bucks) and see who can blow up an UJM trying to break into the 12's

Wow Makarth it is funny that you say that, I've been talking with Mitch Boehm about doing an article about exactly what you are talking about, budget resto's on a barn find. I've offered up one of my bikes as an example to use for an article and he seems to have some interest. You can check out the bike we are talking about in the project section at kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...w&id=201168&catid=11

I really need to get back to working on this bike and get it finished but I've bought 4 new bikes in the last couple of months and have gotten a little sidetracked.:S

I hope I was not being too harsh. I am just staeing a PERSONAL Oppinion. I hope a few more KZR subscribers pitch in here and give us their oppinions. One thing that makes me happy though, is that it seams like the oppinion was consctructive and not destructive, which by no means was it intended to be.

When they sell this rag in Wallys, I will buy a copy and make up my own mind. I really am not interested in personalities or vintage racing and that is why I find Motorcycle Classics a good magazine for me.

This should make you guys all happy. I just recieved an email from Mitch Boehm and this is what he had to say about the next issue coming out.

We're going to focus on Zs and KZs in issue two, and we'll get your story in there somehow.
Plus all the racing stuff (Yosh early, etc.).
Also the 250 Elsinore, and Malcolm Smith, etc.

So it sounds like we are all going to have to wait a few months for the next issue for things to get really interesting.

Well there also seems to be a delivery problem in our area. The B&N in Topeka says, and I quote "Our computer says we have them, but we can't find them"
My response is the obvious, well what can I do to get one?
Idiot B&N employee: "Subscribe"
Me: They don't offer that, yet.
Idiot: Oh...
Me: So, how do I get a copy? Can you reserve one, talk to a manager, get one shipped from another store (100 miles away)?
Idiot: No...I can't help you.

.....nice...
