I hate to sound weird, but I will buy at least two copies or maybe even three one to keep at home one to take to work and one to share with my friends. I buy Modeling magazines which range between $5-$12 a pop foreign and domestic. I wish I still had some of the bike mags which came out in the late 70s that I have thrown away or lost in basement floods over the years. As far as I am concerned, buying a few copies is a very small price to pay to keep a good publication alive. I believe that re-prints of some old articles and articles written by KZR members would also help sails of this new Pub. I know that I have written articles for a few Model magazines in the past and have always gotten very positive emails afterwards. For example; there was an article back in the late 70s where Yoshimura took a Z1-R and built it to run in the 10s and still be very street friendly. I believe RC Engineering, did the same with a GS1000, and they had a race off. The picture of these bikes was on the front cover doing burn-outs. I paid about $15 for a copy of this Mag about a year ago and now I can't find it again. Yet, there was a post on this website asking just that question; what will it take to take a KZ1000 to the 10s. The responses were mostly discouraging, and why, it has been done in the past, why can't it be done now. Articles like these can definitely keep this magazine alive. I am almost (but not quite)50 years old and have been riding my first Z1-R since I was 18 (still have the bike)Built the same way as in the article. I KNOW that I have broken the 10.8s with it at the drag strip back then. Let's publish these article from the past and get this show (Motorcyclist classic) on the road.

oh man, the man himself has graced himself with his presence!!! I'll be buying it Mitch, I've only had a MC subscription for two years now, but I'm a big fan of what you've been doing with it!! Even when I'm in Qatar this summer I'll make the girl go out and pick it up for me. Thats assuming it makes it to Newfoundland, if it doesn't, I'll have to take you up on your service, haha. ;)

im in too, havent found a motorcycle magazine worth spending my money on in close to 20 years since they stopped talking about the old air cooled bikes.i realize the market share for the old stuff aint as big as the sportbikes, but i figure most of us older guys are now able to afford to do the things to these old bikes now that we couldnt do as kids and we are doing our best to spend the kids inheritence money to accomplish it so dont over look us!

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

I'll buy a copy. Just so long as they don't fill it up with Hondas.

Nah, I'll buy one anyway. But in the 1st two issues there better be at least one KZ.

As I understand it the first issue will have a 69 or 70 H-1 on the cover along with a story about it.

Is there a list of book stores/news stand that plan on carrying this?

Heck, my local B&N doesn't even carry Walnecks!:S

I've been going to the local B&N every other day for the last week, just so I don't miss out. They tell me they know nothing about it but I just think they don't know what they are talking about. Just can't wait ,I guess.

A problem is that not all these big bookstores are created equal...I have a big B&N about 10 miles away but another B&N I've been to in Austin (150 miles away) has a much larger motorcycle mag section than my local one. It all has to do with marketing...this means that there are more folks interested in classic bikes in Austin than in southern Houston...it is likely I won't see a copy of this new mag (unless I go to Austin...which I'm supposed to in June:) )

Otto, you aren't finding it because your hunt is premature. I've been in contact with Mitch Boehm recently and the release date he gave me was Mid-May.

Also in the communications I've received from him, he has been referring to it as Motorcyclist Retro so I'm thinking that the publishers decided to go with a different name. Possibly to avoid being confused with Motorcycle Classics.
