No rev limiter, geared real low, stock springs because they were in spec, and too much pride on the high way with passenger.

Looks like dentonation to me. When the hole in the piston looks like it was done with a torch, that's pre-ignition. If the hole has jagged edges that's dentonation. Is the timing dead on?? Pump gas??

See if the top rings in the undamaged pistons are stuck in their grooves. Dentonation usually collapses the top ring land groove. Higher compression pistons and more lift and duration, I always go to like a B9ES sparking plug. Too much timing and pump gas will cause dentonation for sure. I set my advance unit to crank with a degree wheel. Loosen the advance unit bolt, and see how much it moves side to side!!! Bet it like 10 degrees or so!!!!

Pilot fuel /air screws by my RS Mikuni manual say you can set them from 1/8 turn out to like 1 1/2 turns out!!

Def was a valve that hit it. The valves on two other cyclenders were touched a little and the piston have a littlw, mark. Well its rebuilt again haha leaking oil from places but I havent gone through and torqued all bolts to spec using my FSM. Most just guessed. I know my valve cover bolt is stripped. That was a fun find. I have some leaky fuel from my carbs too. I have to check the plugs too.

Running well but allas there is an head gasket leak. Upon start up, it blows smoke from where the head meets the jugs on the left side. I think it seals up when it warms and the head bolts are all at 75, the recommended tightness for APE studs. Should i tighten them stone cold? Could extreme cold mess with this as I did store the bike in my hangar and it got -32 f this year. Also it is a copper HG with copper spray. Maybe i didnt spray it enough?

also my RS-34 is leaking gas from the left most carb (carb 1). I broke them down and cleaned the whole carb, even setting the carb float to 17mm, but to no avail. I ordered new Needle Valve & Needle Seat N149.040 007-143 for that one carb so hopefully it works.
