Been following this build and the trials and tribulations for a while now, I am SOOOOO happy for you that it is finally ridable and that you are getting some well earned and deserved enjoyment for it! Congrats Kaw, now push it across the finish line and put it to bed finally!!!!

Thanks Brett, bike ran great. Between my heavy throttle and the way it is built no really fuel efficient but a hell of a lot of fun to ride. I will get out on my day off and gets some pics of the bike around Phoenix.

Outstanding Jon that is terrific to hear, way to go and a big congrats all around on such a gorgeous bike and long term project that you pushed through to completion!!! I hear ya on the heavy throttle hand, my bike is my "toy" and joy ride so when I am on it I certainly don't abuse it but I ride Saya hard every single time and have a blast. Surprised that every time I check the mileage I am getting 46-47MPG though, never expected that but pleasantly surprised. I suspect its due to how lean Ma' Kawi tunes these older bikes from the 80's, I suspect with a bit of practice and some inspection and tuning you may be able to get that up a bit, best of luck man and share some pics!!!!!

The spacer setup allows me to move it closer by shortening them if need be as I haven't determined where the chain will run on my frame. I will likely need something around 3/8'-1/2" for a 180 sized tire on a zx600r rim. I had the face of the slave flattened for something I intend to insert there later. The clutch rod can be determined later and if longer than stock is needed can be made from 1/4" rod. The bottom hole where the shift shaft passes through has also had a bearing installed for smoother operation.

pete greek1 wrote: Jon, since we have basically the same build & carbs, when you figure out what mileage you're getting let me know, so I know if I'm in the same ballpark, I get about 30 or so MPG, depending how hard I ride, I have the LTD tank, 3 1/2 gal. & I like to fill up after 100 miles, that's before I hit reserve
Thanks: Pete
I will let you know Pete. I still need to fine tune my timing just a bit. I may also play with rear sprocket size a tiny bit drop RPMs.
