once you figure out what offset you are going to need,if you can't find one gimme a shout and i can help you out.
you cut the splines outta one,the teeth off another, machine a spacer and weldem together.
thats the readers digest version of offset countershaft sprocket fabrication  !
hopefully you end up with something like this.

Leon, once I get my shock and swingarm completely mounted I will start measuring. I normally do everything myself but I'm not sure I can get the sprocket straight when making 1 out of 2....I'll probably be sending it to you! Thanx for the info everyone!!

quick update, waiting for my chain to arrive to figure out alignment issue. I have my sprockets cut up and ready to weld at whatever offset I need up to .80". I have also done some trimming on the GSXR front fender to make it look like it fits my idea of what I want. I have to shock mount tacked in but still need to make reinforcements. Found some rearsets locally on craigslist for $25 complete!! Actually came with a lot of other parts, swingarm, axles, etc. Anyone want a swingarm off a 2002 CBR600f4i? lol. Pics coming in the next couple days!

Hey looks good. I'm building a KZ650's rear end. I'm using a GSXR1100's rear tire.170/60 x17. Do you plan on using the stock 16 TEETH sprocket? Here's my offset sprocket. My spacer is 4130. Any issues welding 4130 to a heat treated sprocket? I plan heating them first then using 4130 filler rod.

Looks very good so far, really a great score on the parts and (no) shipping charge. A lot of times I see just the forks alone going for $200 much less all the stuff you got, it should help that you have both front and back ends complete. Paint/colours are very hard to suggest as it is so personal, for my build which will happen soon I hope I am torn between a no paint at all approach to any range of colours. Often waiting till all the parts are assembled will in itself suggest a colour scheme. I have seen a few traditional colour schemes but with really wild colour choices, check out what some of the top Japanese resto-mod customizers are doing, might get some ideas from that.
Good luck and I will be following this build for sure.

tiger1959,
no issues welding the two together.
i use er70s-2 filler.that way the weld has some elasticity, and less chance to fracture.

hi leon, first nice job on the bike...
second i was wondering if you can help out on a project of mine?
i have a project bike and was looking into welding a overlay (bigger) countershaft sprocket on a cut down original but worried that the heat treated 4130 sprocket will fail (crack) unless the part is annealed first before welding. have you done anything else ? and can you elaborate on machining the 4130 sprocket? speed/bit material etc as the sprocket i have is pretty hard as i think most are guessing about 50 or higher rockwell since a file will not nick it.
last have you ran any of the reworked parts with out any problems.
thanks in advance.....joe@ vcycle
project is 1968 w2 kawasaki engine in a 67 atlas norton slim line frame....if i can get past the sprocket ! ha
