Yeah, but I am pretty good at removing evidence....... Lol! I think all they do is apply silicon at the bezel glass joint which you can simply do your self. Also seal up the harness at the back of the gauge.

I don't plan on getting this bike soaking wet, but they sell quite a few of these into bike an boat applications, so I am not going to sweat it. When my stuff gets here, I post up pics of my cups for the gauges.

After spending tons of money fixing the Yamaha fj1200 speedo, I added a speedhut speedo and I'm very impressed. The guy I ride with has changed both his speedo and tacho on his Z900 as well (they look original as well).

The speedo had the silver bezel replaced by a black one

First Permanent ride the Z1R since Dec1977 (220,000km) as of June 2015
Second permanent bike 1989 FJ1200 dyno'd 140RWH, great bike.
Third ride is now the Frankenstein 1981 GPZ1100B1, 1983 fully recon motor fitted LOVE THIS BIKE
Forth my work bike FJ1200 1989 (same type as FJ above)

Cory, You wouldn't at this moment (assuming you are talking Z), I just replaced the gearbox bearings and fitted new APE clutch plates. Now for some reason when the oil gets hot, Traffic light racing causes the oil light to come on, I have all the sump mods to prevent this etc, when I check the oil in the oil cooler there is non (I did prime the lines etc beforehand), so the pump is sucking air (thank goodness I shut it down as soon as the light goes on). The pressure will not return while the oil is hot, So this weekend, I'll check
the oil pump assembly/ orings/ internal clearances etc.
Check that the oring on the oil gallery from the oil pump between engine cases didn't drop out during assembly (using pressure).
and check the sump plate oil filter oring is matting correctly (no gaps). So the Yami is my current mode of transport to work etc

Sorry to deviate from the original thread, I'll go and stand in the naughty corner "again".

American made, lifetime warranty, fully customizable, and very adaptable. Also pretty reasonable on cost.

I was looking at those during xmas. They are pretty nice but I had a hard time swallowing almost 500 bucks for gauges (the set I wanted). That gets into motgadget territory

I came across these up at the Michigan International show. Nice looking pieces and I done some shopping around and got the set I wanted over $75 cheaper than listed on their site. They also have some other nice stuff worth looking at.

Les, they are something I considered as well but keep in mind the speedo I have is a GPS controlled dial which which is very accurate regardless of wheel size, wheel stands? :blush: etc. It also has some nifty stuff like 1/4 mile drag times, 0-100 times, top speed, etc. So for me the Speedhut was the best and it looks like my other gauges. The update is excellent, I can go full bore and the speedo appears to keep up (unlike some other GPS speedos)
The only slight hickup is when going through tunnels (it drops out)

MotoGadget is fantastic, but too expensive IMHO. For both gauges, it was $291, which is cheaper than Autometers....

I am using their active speed sensor as it is what I have been using for a speed compensated steering damper project I have been working on. My problem with Koso is none of the gauges are the look I want. I don't care for modern looking gauges, and that is pretty much all they make. There was one analog gauge I considered, but it had no matching tach. I want two gauges, so......

I agree on the look, that's part of why I hadn't ran them before now. Going in a Z1R fairing modified. As for GPS, mine doesn't keep up well an inaccurate half the time and just flat don't read the other half. I'm sure it's in the receiver I'm running and not my speedo itself
I like the sealed up thing on the speed hut parts, been caught in the rain on mine and the auto meters get moisture in them then that foggy damp look on a hot day afterwards.

also since speed hut makes the faces one off, you can get the template from them and design whatever gauge face you want. they only charged me $15 extra to do this.

Ohh, very nice! Yeah I thought about trying to get a red RPM band done on mine, but then decided to create more of a muscle car type gauge.
