Pigford: Love the build, it's gonna be intresting to follow. And by the way, I love the UK bike-magazines, I subscribe to CMM/Classic Bike/Practical Sportsbike...there isn't anything close to the quality of these magazines in Sweden :pinch:

I wish i knew this was a rare frame when i first started getting into bikes. You know how people say "If i knew then what i know now"... yea, i think i blew it with an awesome frame a few years ago I know a guy thats like some kind of monster when it comes to Kawasakis. Lots of them at his house i i remember seeing one of these, thinking it was just a crotch rocket.

Kawasaki is more of a drug than any other breed of bike - I've currently got 4 x Z1000's in the garage :whistle:

Mrs P don't even like 2-wheels :blink: One of her friends came round when I had the garage door open, and she says:

Ya, my "better half" feels the same. Lucky for me I have a little space at the shop for my "collection of junk". :laugh:

I think I'd be seriously tempted to trade 'em all for that Harris though!!

hahah, yea we got like 5 KZs in our garage. 2 KZ1000s, 2 76' KZ400s, and 1 78' KZ750.. all of which i had to beg my dad to buy so i could get my grubby mits on them

Finally got the phone call - so rushed and collected me bitz....

I finally got round to drilling out the broken/rusted bolt remains & re-tapping - this is to hold the side stand kaboodal




Next is fitting the brakes.... I've gone thru' a few options, this being one that I've now rejected.....



It's a proper MICRON adaptor - converts the forks to use common Nissin 4-pots, etc.

I'm gonna use the lower caliper mount as a direct fit - just need 5mm shaved off the inside to align it - then make a small adaptor lug out of 10mm alloy plate, then JOB DONE I had wanted to get a new lug welded on, but the chap reckons alloy fork sliders will most likely deform/shrink if welded and the fork action may suffer

They look like the stock wheels :dry:

The 18 inch rear mag is not as plentiful as the 16 inch mag. 18 inch drum rear is what I have on mine. Not sure what bike originally had the 18 inch rear mag.
