I already knew your machines looked great, and from the pic posted only adds to my knowledge regarding them. There were some other good looking machines as well. Is that a Honda Dream I see?

So cool, great job! Did you fab the exhaust or just the can?

coming back from the mountains the bike got stuck in 5th about 70 miles from home. It was all highway so I just drove home and slipped the clutch really long a couple times I had to stop. I’m regretting doing this because the reason the shifter got stuck was the output shaft bearing failed and the bearing cage fell out jammed up the shifter pawls. So I drove 70+miles with bearing debris running through the engine – not good.

Hopefully being on the "trans" side the debris stayed in the pan (the strainer should stop it being drawn around the top end) I guess as long as one of those stray balls hasn't chipped any gears you should be good.
PS: bike still looks awesome and "man what a road" :)

OH CHIT!
What an emotional roller coaster of a day. Hopefully Wookie is right about the debris.

Unfortunately..I FEEL Your Frustration!! I've several Z engines that have suffered the same thing. Generally from years of abuse by fellas overtightening the drive chain and/or incorrectly adjusting merely on the sidestand.

...then all the motorcycles and engines I've seen here have only been ridden by people who were able to adjust the chain fairly correctly, or at least not sooo tight that the main bearing gets sooo much overloaded! (People have to notice that when the chain runs so hard under load, it creaks...) Boy, boy, some people are better off staying pedestrians.. ;-)...I, for one, learned how to properly tension a bicycle chain as a boy.

Greetings, Joe
