Yup, I'm talking about this project thread and the bike itself. What I think I got here is a 79 kz1000ltd frame housing a 78 motor. I bought it from a friend for $400 about a year ago. I plan on getting it running and riding first, then improving and restoring it gradually. Sort of a rolling resto as money allows, cuz I ain't got a surplus of the green stuff. A lot of you guys have seen my posts on here and are probably sick of hearing about the darn Honda cb750, so I just got a new camera and plan on getting down to business with some serious kz wrenching.

First thing I'm curious to find out what you guys know about these Manley cam end cover thingies. I know Manley is a maker of valvetrain components, but do these covers indicate some head work has been done? I was thinking(hoping!) they may have been part of a cam kit of some sort. Anybody know anything?

"Man, give me a break. I just had to learn how to resize."... Right, like that's going to happen here.... :P

Other then carbs seems in tack for the most part.... Score!

Aluminum end caps... APE, Fast by Gas, Several others make them.... Seal then go, no rubber to harden over the years...

Nope, does not depict anything internally such as performance cams.... Only way to know that is open her up and measure the lobes....

I think there has already been good info posted recently on how to hook up these mismatched alternator to regulator/rectifier wires.

Carbs? Yup, got 2 sets. One of 'em even looks to be fairly complete and useable. Too bad my "friend" wouldn't hand over the flat slides that he got with the bike. Any body recognize these? I need a positive id. How do I do that? Measure the throat or something?
