mark is talking about a jack shaft.
mike is going to build his cover as an outboard bearing support and extend his countershaft sprocket however far he needs to get out side the frame and then run one chain back to the rear sprocket.
unless i am totally off base,
in which case i am sure mike will get me back on track.
lookin like some good progress mike, keep us posted .

That's how I read it too Leon. An outboard bearing support make to look like a stock cover. Yet another piece of kz unobtanium :pinch:

Me thinks Mr. Slingshot is going to have some ballnose endmills in his future. Can anyone say 3-D profiling? Holy tangent points Batman! There's a lot of compound curves involved in making that cover look stock. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

I was just looking at the sideshot of the rooooling chassis, and I noticed something about that swingarm. There's just enough room in front of that tire for a bottle of laughing gas. Hmmmmmm....

Very good Leon,Adam,Wireman. It would have been alot easyer to run a jackshaft swingarm, but that would be to easy, and you cant thrash on them so the outboard bearing/outside drive is my best option.
Testa you are correct again, I too see many ballend mills in my future. I just don't want to do all this work and have the cover look out of place on the bike. Here is my problem I have already made a clutch cover and points cover,so I am thinking I should just go ahead and do the stator cover vavle cover and the sprocket cover as well. I don't really want too because I need to get this thing done already. And yes there is room in front of the tire for a little blue bottle lol.

I am building a 87 toyota pickup air bags all the way around back half chassis for my son, Building a turbo Hayabusa with a freind of mine, machining all my parts that I sell and building swingarms plus I sub contract injection mold work repairs build new molds etc etc, oh and I almost forgot the Kz that I am building. So right now I can't even think of another new porduct.

Mark, are you using a hydraulic clutch right now? I rode a friend's GSXR1000 that has a hydraulic clutch and it felt numb to me.

no it is a project i started collecting parts for and have not installed. just thought it would be a cool upgrade, or sideways grade? lol
there are a number of sport bikes that have them though, so i assume they work ok. i think u would have to take the time to bleed the fluid properly, just like the brakes.if not done properly they may not feel right. i know from experience how hard it can be to get all the air bubbles out of brakes, u think u have it , then after a couple of rides the lever doesnt feel as tight, so u have to re-bleed.
i have seen the odd 1 on rd race bikes. Not sure about drag bikes. maybe u would get more feel with a cable?
i talked to a rd racer at a bike show last winter.he said he liked it better than the cable because it adjusted automatically during a race. some of the racers have a big adjuster on both brake and clutch cables so they can tweek them during the race? dont know why they would need to though?
