I am so glad I found this site!

You are doing what I would like to do. Thanks for posting these pics.

Mono shock: Is straight up and down the only possible application? Could it be angled?

Tank dents: Did you have to modify position of tank on frame to solve this?

I'm just beginning.

How do you determine where you can brace and what amount is safe and practical?

thanks again

thaks mark lookin forward to meetin properly in the coming summer.

hey scooter!! the problem is with the position of the monoshock is yes it has to be straight up as it has to go through the swingarm, there is a hole in witch it sits,if the angle is wrong the as the swingarm goes up and down it will rub off the shock, unless you fab and wel your own shock mount on the top, you cant turn it upside down because of the shape of it, so in short yes it has to be straight.
as for the tank, i had to move the tank stoppers back 3/4 of an inch and also dent the tank, believe it or not there is 2 positions you can have the stoppers at if you look under the back bone you can see, hope this helps feel free to ask and if i know ill help but if i dont there are many here who do.:)

Nice work. I have one question. What did you use to paint the engine? I am considering this option. BTW I have that same pipe on my ZX-10r, and it is a little long. I plan on shortening mine when I'm done with the KZ. You are a busy boy. Keep it up.

ha thanks mate! duplicolor high temp is the only answer, lots of colours,it comes in matt satin and gloss, it covers well, has a smooth finish, lasts the test without changing or flaking, the only down side is that is it breaks down with gasoline, oil is no problem but gas will disolve it over a period of time, here is a link to their site.

Did your spring on your mono shock in this pic come that color? If I were to unscrew the retainer rings (bolts) to separate spring from shock in order to paint how or what would I need to be able to get it back together? What type of paint would be best for this application? Any draw backs to powder coating other than cost?
