- Whats that? Half of my swingarm is missing?!?!?
Thank god I learned how to gas weld in H.S., otherwise tig welding would be alot harder to pick up. Don't get me wrong, I have alot to learn; but after brushing off the dust and a bit of practice I seem to be getting the hang of it. The pic is of the bottom shelf for the argon bottle and the cooler (whenever I get one). A middle shelf will hold the plasma cutter and the tig machine will sit on top.

I ruined 5 sheets (got 40) before I was able to lap weld 2 sheets together. I still had the top sheet burn back a little in 2 spots, but I was able to salvage it. This was done without filler rod. It's not super pretty, but it is completely fused

With that y pipe are you planning to run 4 into 2 into 1?should tuck in pretty tight around swing arm and rear tail.wish I could tig weld.just picked my tank up last night at a frisnds shop.he makes his own stainless headers and piping for race cars.does pretty good as a side job slash hobby.
Tig welding is slower than mig, but it's so much more versatile. I've wanted to learn for some time, and now I have a chance. That Ti weld was ugly, but I did it without filler rod or a foot pedal. Hence the pride in a crappy weld
And then I've got a leakyseal wondering why my thread has garnered more replies than it apparently deserves
I got the duc mid pipe to help me along with the exhaust. It might not help, but if not I'll get some practice tigging thin wall stainless

Wait until he sees my thread. It's only up to 1142 replys, and I hope to add at least one today.
Geez 0.015" titanium for a starter. Why don't you try and weld some tin foil together? Now that you got it lap welded, you need to butt weld some together. That's where the party starts.
So, how you liking that tig? Do you have any advice for me yet? Should I hold out for a blue one, or a red one, or is that everlast gonna fill the bill? You can move this to pm if you don't want to clutter your thread. I wouldn't want to unnecessarily add to your reply count.
