Does a 650 have to be sleeved to go to 810cc?

It would have to, yup, but I'm using KZ750 jugs. You have to modify the KZ650 engine cases to fit them in, but its the most economical way to go to 810 on a 650.

Just a quick note. We had the discussion before about the size of the crown of these pistons vs. the KZ650 combustion chamber. I just measured, and the combustion chamber measures 60mm across, and the piston crown is 56.78mm. So they'll fit no problem, and have a squish band 4.5mm wide all around.

Powdercoated fork tubes!!

I'm moving this weekend, so I just re-organized all my parts, got everything nice and ready to go. Next week should be a big week for work on my bike.

Wow. I would never have thought of that color! :cheer:

That's just great. Can't wait to see what it looks like on your bike.

Best of success, :)
Bill

Thanks Bill. This guy posted pics of his 650 cam cover that he had done in wrinkle black, and I was in the process of stripping my forks, so I wonted it right away. My calipers are also getting done in the same finish, along with my carb bowls and caps. Hopefully you can see it installed on the bike by the end of next week, I have to wait for parts from Z1 before they can go on though.

So this is my sandblasting area. Pretty good huh?

And this is a good shot of my progress on the frame. I've got all the cancer out now, so I need to paint it as soon as I have a nice day, nowhere indoors I can do it.

So I fired up the lathe this morning and made some teflon bushings for my fork damper tubes. I'll take some pictures when I'm reassembling my forks, just gotta wait till my new bolts and crush washers arrive from Z1E.

The frame painting might have to wait till this weekend, I'd imagine it will be too cold out in the evenings this week for painting. And I still need to find a bigger compressor so I can get my engine cases and jugs done before they go out to the boring guy.

Ok, I need to decide now whether to paint my frame black or stick with the blue. Here's a pic of the blue frame, I like it but I don't know, maybe I should go back to black. I think I might stick with it but paint the swingy black. The engine is going to be black too, so it will look like a stealth bike if I don't keep some colour.

I love the finish on the fork tubes, and the sandblasting area! I doubt that I would get much blasting done with that in the background. Here's an idea for your frame. Paint it black, but put a blue pinstripe along all of the visible tubes. Not sure what it will look like, but I have seen it on a bike with a red pinstripe, and that was cool for that bike. Just a thought...
