Nice work bud. I'm jelous. I'm stuck in gasket scraping hell right now. You owe Leon a beer, that swingarm is tits. It looks like a factory piece after the second coat of paint.

Ok, heres the bike as she sits tonight, day one of the build. Had some screwing around to get the piston circlips in, what a bitch they were! And some general headaches from having shit in ten different boxes and it being almost two years since I looked in any of them. But I'm happy with the progress, the engine is all buttoned up minus the cams. Tomorrow I'll get the handlebars and junk mounted, and maybe get a start on the electrical. That's the biggest job left right now.
Crappy cell phone pic, but thats all I had. I'll get a better shot tomorrow.

That is some good progress. That swing arm is really cool! Curious, why were the c-clips an issue? I plan on starting an 810 soon.

Things are looking great Tyler :woohoo: Are you installing the cams straight up or degreeing with adjustable sprockets?

Thanks for the compliments!
The circlips are just a bit tight, took a bit of persuasion to get the second one in its groove sometimes.
And I'm degreeing, gotta do some cam sprocket modification in the machine shop this week.

Get ready. Those cam gears are liable to be as hard as that bearing race that you fought with. Make sure you use a carbide endmill. Are you going to check them first or just go straight to the machine shop. You never know, you might get lucky and not have to modify anything. So far so good.

I'm not sure that the cam sprockets are hardened. i have hear guys use a rat tail file or drummel to elongate the holes.
U wont need much, 1/8" should be lots.

Yeah I'm gonna use the rotary table, so I'm just gonna put in 5 or 6 degrees in either direction.
I just test fitted the exhaust. The oil cooler lines don't clear, and neither does the swingarm. The oil cooler I could deal with, but not the swingy, thats gonna need a new exhaust or fabrication.

Just through a quick search it looks like the Mac canister might work. It says it works for the Gpz which would have the same oil cooler, but will it work with my swingy? Who knows.
PS - My exhaust is now in the classifieds.
