The weak link I've found with the Kawasaki clutch rod mechanism is where the cable attaches to the actuator.

I have an 82 GPZ1100 B2 and had my sprocket cover off for a new chain and sprockets and noticed play where the cable secured to the pivot. I drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a 1/4" Aerospace Hi-lok bolt. Possibly installing a bronze/brass bushing will minimize wear in this area.

How does it tie into the frame? my chain passes over the lower foot peg bolt hole, on the inside of the frame rail.

on the far right of the plate you will notice the holes are bigger...they are for 8mm bolts that thread into a piece of round bar ...a boss basically....that is welded to the frame....so the plate ties the frame motor and outboard of the sprocket all together....as soon as I get it completed on the bike I will post a bunch of pics...you can see an example of this on the '73
