both of my drag bikes have been raked about ten degrees and i have absolutly no problems mounting the tanks one has the neck raked and the other has the frame raked so i have both situations i used to run the large stock 900 tank on the frame with the neck rake and it was no problem the frame raked bike now has the big tank and it fits fine the big bike now has the small ltd tank so if your having a problem you might want to go with one of those they are quite a bit smaller. if the price is right you should grab the frame.

Around here, most guys rake the frame by cutting about an inch out of the top tube under the tank and then pulling the neck back til the tube meets up again. Then weld them together again. I have a frame like that and a stock tank won't work. Will have to move tank mounts back about 1/2 inch to clear the neck. I prefer to remove the neck and weld on another in the desired rake or some will cut the stock neck down the side at the desired rake and then weld another neck tube onto the cut neck already on the frame. It's the harder way to do it but, in my opinion, it's the best way to do it.
