ya it will be nice when it's done. I have to get the modified rear brake pedal from schnitzracing.com to clear the sidewinder pipe. I also got a rear master cylinder from a 03 suxuki gsxr 600 from my buddy for free. I cant wait to rip into the motor but im not going to until i get everything needed for it, then it's a trip to z1enterprises.com to drop some coin for everything else needed.

Its been awhile since i posted last. It has been cold as hell here, but is finally warmed up enough to work on the bike. Got the bike stripped down to the frame, motor out and waiting for the kz 1000 head. I have spent the last 2 days wire wheeling the frame and swingarm, i almost got it perfect.......lol. I bought some of the Duplicolor black and clear wheel paint, im gonna shoot a couple coats on tommorow and see how it turns out. Oh, i finally got my sidewinder exhaust in the mail today. Here are a few shots of it, it is in near perfect condition, 3 out of the 4 headpipes have blueing but im sure the 4th one will blue up when i fire it over......lol. No rust anywere on it, but it does look like the guy's shoe melted onto the megaphone.

Thanks for the kind words guy's. Makes me keep going.............lol:laugh:  :P . Well i got some not to good news to report:angry:    , after i got the paint and clear coat on the frame, it got cold that night like -6, and i came out the next day, and the paint was chipping off everywere on the frame and swing-arm. So now i get to do it all over again.........YAY!!!!!!!!!!!.....lol. But i think this time, instead of wire wheeling everything, im going to have it sand-blasted. I should have taken some pics of it after i painted, but i didnt even think about it...........oh well i will take some when it gets painted for the 2nd time........i promise......lol.

Just powder coat it ! B) If you take it down to bare metal anyways, a shop will probably coat it for 60-80.00 and then it won't chip. Just check it for missed spots when they are done.

well i bit the bullit and look it down to bare metal in the bad spots, right now im waiting for the black to cure so i can clear coat it. I will post pics as soon as its ready. I also have a lead on a set of gently used wiesco 1075 pistons, in a bored kz 1000 set of jug's. It supposedly only used 500 miles in 1 year, it also has andrews 4x cams???????i think. Im going tommorow to look at them, and ideas how much to offer the guy?

oldkaw: There is a polishing compound on the market that will remove "bluing" off of your chrome header, maybe you already know this (nice pipe by the way). I read an interesting article a while back from Hooker or Headman regarding discoloring on headers and one contributing factor is dialing in and setting up your engine, they suggested using old headers for initial start-up until you get your ignition timing dialed in, ect. I found it a good read.... can't remember where the link went for it. Doug

Thanks for the tip, ya i have seen the blue away compound. But for some odd reason i actually like the blueing on the pipes. They add charecter to it ya know? Since this is going to be a rider i dont want it to perfect.......lol
