i really don't know how i missed that story two months ago when you first posted it.
that is just too cool of a "pay it forward" story.
i wish the old man lived long enough for me to build him a z1 since he bought a 73 and hated it because he said there were nothing but problums with it.
all i remember is he said he could never get it to start or idle.
this is just the ultimate story of a son doing something for dad to repay him .
too cool!
btw, i also loved the " who's pos" is that line.
the only thing better would've been just riding it to his house, letting him go for a ride when it's done and then tossing him the keys after telling him it was his old bike, rebuilt and his again.
i think you would've made him cry then.( i know i would )
keep us updated ok?

Re: Z1 900-Got the rear end assembled
13 Dec 2008 21:19 - 13 Dec 2008 21:26
Ok, i was really really really bored tonight, so i put together the rearend on my Z1 tripple disc conversion. The tire is only for mockup because it is a 150, but i was able to manipulate it into the swingarm. Now i have to bolt the swingarm onto the frame and that part will be done:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:  . Now all im waiting on is my GPZ 900 dual front callipers, gota figure out how and were im gonna mount the rear master cylinder. Any who here are a few pics to hold you all over till i get some of it mounted on the bike!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: And yes those are dictionary's holding up the swing arm, heck atleast im using them for something, its more action than they have seen the last couple years....lol:lol:
