ZRX pegs look good BK. Been lagging on doing that with mine. Have had far too many ride days lately to pass up.

The Zuke is at the father-in-laws trying to teach the Harley how not to pee where it sleeps; and the Honda is at the former (uber generous) land-lord's massive estate. This summer I decided this bike was so close that I'd just finish it real quick and here I am...end of summer and needing (probably) a new ignition. So be it. Here is what is in the garage at the moment...sadly.

Just kidding; wish mine was running (on more than two cylinders)...but thanks for the complement. Yeah, when you look at the frame where I mounted mine, there is a very convenient frame tube-overlap that makes for a perfect reference point when welding the rear-peg mounting plate; makes things a total breeze. The wife says that the new pegs are just fine, so that clears the way for me to go ahead and prep for propper rear-sets so the exhaust megaphone can be propperly routed...when I get to that.

I've got to come up with a cleaner set-up than this:

OY!!! Did you guys see that???!!!
I'm not kidding when I say that's just about the coolest thing! Man thinks I'm kidding...I really am going to tell all my friends...I emailed both of them not more than 5 minutes ago...
Seriously though; I'm honored, and as many of you know the story behind this little GPz is interesting, so go check it out.
On the performance side of it, I took the bike to Kraig (Blitzkraig around here) and had him take a look at it. Wasn't so much an electrical problem (we think) as it was a crappy mechanic problem (that'd be me). He said the carbs needed a bit more cleaning, synched/balanced and floats adjusted and it runs like a champ...it's just all the way over in Emporia (200 miles from here) right now, so he's riding my horse and I gotta hear about it...
...sorta like having a stable full of cool bikes that you've always wanted and not having a KZ650...hmmmmm.
Anyway, I don't wanna double-dip so if you guys go over to the kz1000r.com site be sure to let me have all your feedback, advice, correction, councel, criticism...what have you. I'm all ears.

BK that is bad ass... Kano you rock for adding this bike and defining the linage of the release. It was a big deal until the next year when the Interceptor was released. But for those of us stricken by the KZ bug they didn't exist. I still feel this bike is the best looking of the group. Aside from the big bores of the same year.
The thing I have found is the Zephyr is a modern version of this bike. 1100 version may be the same. There are way too many items that are exactly the same. Kawi just took the blueprints off the shelf and upgraded where they felt needed. What sold me was the output shaft was a bit farther outboard and larger. So my hope is the bottom end is even more bulletproof.
Thanks for making that trade back in the day to get it back, not to mention the hit while in Cali when you needed the cash. Trust me I feel the pain with the Mac and Cheese diet. Been there done that.
Congratulations Mon!

Thanks buddy,
You KNOW I follow your bike. I'm serious when I tell you that this is making me giggle like a little kid right now. I think my wife is getting the most out of it, she's happy for the regocnition, but she just laughs at me when she looks at me and I say "what" and she says "quit smiling ... you look like you did something you weren't suppose to".
I know it's goofy, but this just makes me smile. One web site (albeit a cool-ass one!) says that they acknowledge the fact that my bike doesn't totally suck and I think I'm Elvis Presley! Ha!!!
