they wanted $44 for it plus your first born son, a set of chickens teeth and a bucket of rocking horse shit, i gave it a miss as it seemed a little pricy!

Kano, I love your bike. I took a lot of inspiration for my personal build from your project. I wasn't commenting at that time because I was a lurker for about two years before I finally signed up. Thanks for the update.

A KZ that nice deserves to inhale through a fine rack of carburetors.

KEIHIN RACING CARB'S [strike]29[/strike] 33mm CR SPECIALS
After my carbs overflowed i took them apart to clean,
found a few blocked jets but the sizes don't really match stock jet sizes for these carbs.
plus i measured the id of the inlet and they are 33mm not 29mm as advertised on ebay!
i think my $200 set of carb's just got better for my 1170cc motor!
now just need to know what jetting to use now?
here is what i have in them.
Main Jet 105
Air Jet 240
Needle YY8
Clip Position 2
Slow Jet 70
Valve Seat 3.2
Starter Jet 50

33's... Yeah, think you'll be ok... :woohoo: Schwing!
Based on stock jetting and where PO was going in replacement jetting (leaner) one thing I'd look at is the YY8 needle clip position.
It's in clip position 2 from OEM 4 thus raising the needle for increased fuel (richer). ???
With everything going leaner in jetting Main and Slow jet, why did PO go richer on the needle.... Hmmm....
Doesn't make sense to me for as mentioned when we spoke, CR's come extremely rich from suppliers. Phoenix is 1117 foot elevation, you're at 20'... Sea level...  went 2-3 down on the main and slow jets. Changed to leaner YY9 needle in the final setup, clip position 3...
Based on elevations alone, would think you're still on the rich side thus over flow of fuel...
Just out of curiosity, what state/city did these carbs come from?
Might give you some further insight where PO had them set up....
You're gone LUV them puppies once dialed in... Keep at it...
