The main gear that supports the Ducati basket and main seal was made from 4140 annealled ,it's essentially a Ducati gear with Kawasaki gear pitch cut on to it ,then carburized to 58 rockwell, then machine the seal and bearing after returned from heat treat

I was looking at the piece where the starter motor usually is, with the two AN fittings and hoses coming out of it.

Sorry I read that wrong
It's a catch tank to catch oil vapors from getting on the track
Had a spot where the starter use to be so put it there

Did this one for a Honda CB
Same idea

These pictures show the black steel Ducati

If you mean the Kawasaki basket damper
It's all gone including the drive gear attached to it,I couldn't find pics on how the Kawasaki guys did it,so figure use Ducati
It's smaller diam, lighter,it's proven and piles of parts,it's a matter of changing things to kawasaki spline and making it all work

The other pics show the cover
It's carved from a 84 gpz750 clutch cover

Yes all done manual from my mill and lathe in my garage

Only thing outsourced was gear cutting and heat treat

Absolutely brilliant. Very well done. I'm quite envious.

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

Not out of the woods yet I haven't
Bolted it to my race bike yet

Black hardware on the left is Ducati
Made the hardware on the right
From 4140 pre heat to fasten Ducati clutch drum to kawi spline
Tiny holes are for lock wire
Large holes for weight

I LOVE your thinking and the workmanship!!!!! Wish I had your ability. I love the sound of a dry clutch. I have one on my GSXR750 LTD.

Does the Ducati dry clutch have that same great sound??

Are you going to add some type of filler cap so you can add oil in that fancy cover you made up??

Can't wait to see your next post!!!!!!!!

Filler cap on its way
Will be tight thought

Know someone local that has a few
Limited Suzukis with the dry clutch
Very cool bike

Top shows how the cush drive works

Bottom 2 pics are the covers being modified
To accept clutch push rod

Unfortunately only had 83 to 85 gpz covers without the hole ,this was faster than searching for the proper one's

At this point things will slow down a bit until
The bike goes on the lift, unfortunately motor needs to be pulled and split due to the fact the 83 motor had a plug were the rod ran through
