Gear hobbing takes very specialized equipment to do accurately. I understand why you farmed that and the heat treat processes out. Both border on artwork to do correctly. Your machining skills are top notch! A job very well done!

Here are some goals if you ever get decide to get into CNC milling. The face is on the end of a solid carbide end mill.

I have trouble with the tv converter
Let alone cnc programming
I'm envious on what can be made with one

My cnc is a band saw and drum sander lol

The contours on the main plate were done that way including the cover on my starter

Because I used the 83 motor
Kawasaki plugged the passage way
No access for the pushrod like the 82
Option is to source the 82 bushing
Wich is no longer available from Kawasaki
Splitting the cases is the only way to access and replace it

Was able to mount the engine to the mill and use a carbide cutter to cut the hole in

Dodged a bullet that time

This is showing how the7mm through
Rod that opens the basket will be sealed from any oil,was able to machine an old bronze valve guide,press it in gently ,then use the valve guide seal to ensure a nice seal
