Yea it’s getting blasted and powder coated. I don’t want to ever do this step again.

Very nice project. Quick progress too!

There are many more like it, but this one is mine... news to come!

Smart move. I don't think POR-15 can be stripped with paint stripper. I had trouble chasing the threads in the frame with a tap, after I painted on the POR-15.
I used POR-15 on my frame. The worst frame paint ever. IMHO. EVER! I tried spraying it, and the over spray made a mess, while the area I was shooting looked good, so then I would go to fix the mess, and then the nice paint then looked like crap. I finally brushed what I could and slapped the bike back together, planning on blasting it back off.. eventually.. hasn't happened YET. It is also turning grey after 5-6 years on the road.

Yea I like how hard por15 is but it’s hard to work with. Nothing dissolves it except more of it so subsequent coats blister. If you get it perfect the first time then top coat it I imagine it’s worth the effort.

Generally I wish I had the $100 back.

Progress is in the hands of other professionals at the moment.

Cylinder and head are in Florida at Pit Stop Performance and the carbs are with Wired George and his elves.

I’m dying for progress so I bought a KZ650

WOW, you are sinking some cash into this bike! It is gonna be NICE when you get it back together.

Wlth with the Kz650 at least you can get SOME therapy. Not the 100hp type that I am used to, but close enough. There are a LOT of things I wish I could get my money back on.. the latest being 5 Kz1100 clutch springs that are not getting installed in my kz1000. Only 26 bucks that time round. :-)

Cleaned up parts, waiting on assembly.

I have several bikes all apart. I don’t count spent money just what I haven’t yet spent! Otherwise I might die.
