You could use ZRX forks or something simular. ZRX1200 forks are only about 1" lower than stock using the ZRX triples. Press out ZRX stem and press in KZ stem. Many have done that mod including me. The biggest problem is if you want to keep the spoked wheel as there is limited clearance for calipers. I had custom disks made but you can also use spacers. easiest to swap the whole front end..

I went (crazy on eBay) with 2012 GSXR750 fork and wheels. Cognito moto sent me the stem and top clamp. Traxxion in Woodstock, GA will be rebuilding the fork and installing their top cap extension which should take care of most of the height lose. Later on after I get it dialed in I will order my laced 18s front and rear. Two companies have a hub for the GSXR. Cognito moto and HB moto.
Also got my Bandit swing arm today. bushings will arrive Monday. Ill Tig mt shock mounts on for the ZRX shocks i won last night. Coming from Canada soon.
Installed the Dyna 2000 this evening. I had a found a thread on here explaining the fine details of setting it up, but I can't seem to find it now.
I think my very nice GSXR wheels were stolen from in front of my door. Fedex says they were delivered Thursday, but no box here! waiting to hear from them and HOPING they are simply in my leasing office.
Wired George has my carbs in queue and im exctied to see his work.
I'll have my custom simplified wiring harness built tomorrow. Also have a R/R from Rick's for my little lithium battery.
Plan is to get it together and running. Ride it then this winter take it ALL apart for blasting and paint.

Trying to BEAT the pivot bolt out. What a pain. PB blastered it a week ago and more today. Used a propane torch and was able to pound it flush with the side of the frame now Im stuck till I find my bigger hammer and someone dumb enough to hold the punch.

Keep applying liberal doses of penetrant two or three times a day. If PB isn't getting the job done, you can mix up a 1:1 batch af acetone and auto trans fluid. It will often work when others do not.

Do KZ1000 swingarms have a grease fitting in the center of the pivot tube behind the motor like Z1's do? If so, unscrew the grease fitting & inject copious amounts of penetrant into the the middle if the swingarm pivot area might help.

I cut and ground and beat and pulled and I won.

Test mounted my Bandit swingarm. The KZ wheel slides right into place... maybe I can go ahead and build my spoke wheels instead of running gsxr wheels.

Very cool build. I'm watching intently. That bike how you found it is a weird combination of very stock stuff that most bikes this age don't have anymore, and just plain different stuff that I've never seen. Wakt out definitely fits it. Please keep the stock paint you never see those. And proceed and post pictures, I can't wait to see what you do. so far so good

I see why you wanted a new one!

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Thanks fellas.

Yea this bike has a strange last. I’m guessing the exhaust is aftermarket. I think redline sells the same one.

More in store shortly. I’ve been working out of town a lot lately but I’m sort of obsessing over getting this bike right.

I’m certainly keeping the original color. I’m thinking black side covers tho since I need the right side.

Removed the bent garbage fork today. Also went a little nuts with the cut off wheel. modified rear fender. removed passenger pegs. Bandit swing arm hits them.

More pics to come this afternoon.
