That's what I was thinking but I don't want to blow a seal by over filling them to begin with. Anyone know max pressure?

I know, get the FSM. I will as soon as I get caught up a little, I've had to register 3 vehicles this month, buy a set of tires, pay for school start up crap, buy a new radiator, buy and rebuild a head, find new bike parts.....

My manual for my '82 KZ1100 A2 says....
Front shocks 7.1 to 10psi
Rear shocks 5.7 to 21psi

Another thing that affects my handling....tire pressure.
Manual has a nifty little graph, but I'll do my best here.

US and Canadian Models:
Front 28psi
Rear 28psi for loads up to 97.5kg (215 lbs)
Rear 36psi for loads between 97.5kg (215 lbs) to 190kg (418lbs)

Other than US & Canadian Models:
Front 28psi (under 210 kph)
Front 32psi (over 210 kph)
Rear 28psi (under 210 kph) with load up to 97.5kg (215lbs)
Rear 41psi (over 210 kph) with load up to 97.5kg (215lbs)
Rear 36psi (under 210 kph) with load between 97.5kg (215lbs) and 190kg (418lbs)
Rear 41psi (over 210kph) with load between 97.5kg (215lbs) and 190kg (418lbs)

Apparently the "Other than US & Canadian Models" have issues going over 130mph so they put in a whole column in the graph about it. Likely the US & Canada said "NO! you cannot go that fast!"

Anyways, hope this helps. :cheer:

Thanks Smoky.

That's just what I need, I checked it yesterday. The rears probably had the minimum,4.4 by the time I had a good reading. The front had barely enough to hiss when I put the gauge on. I put 8 in the back and 9 in the front. I'll go put a bit more in the back.

Well besides the speed limits in US and Canada. The US had the problem of only having 85 mph speedometers. I don't know what numbnuts bureaucrat thought that one up but you'd think the though of "What if someone actually does get on the throttle and exceeds 85 mph? It might be good that they know how much faster they are going before they hit that tight turn." MIGHT have occurred to them.

I'm still looking for a speedo that I can use that's higher than 85.

So, What differences I would expect if I took the 17" rear rim off the 1000 and replaced the 16" on this one?

Your gearing would be a little taller. Read what it says on the tire about air pressure. They aren't all the same. What came stock may not even be available anymore.

Give it a try, it might be too big.

If it won't go you might want to check out one of the file transfer services in the article I posted.
