I finally got the engine all back together. The last few days have been paint prep, and working on getting things organized.

BTW, I like the old school yellow bubble face mask. Mine was dark green back in the day.

Yesterday, I took my brother to a local repair shop to pick up his 81 CB 650C. It should have been a relatively short trip but the mechanic/owner was such a badass I had trouble leaving.

We got to talking a bit about the 440, I wasn't sure if I lapped the valves correctly. He told me in the future just to bring my crap to the shop and he would let me use "real tools" and look over my shoulder, to make sure I'm doing shit correctly. I asked if the charged shop time and he just laughed at me; said he would be happy to share his knowledge free of charge!

I started clear coating the bike today. Hopefully, we can start getting everything put back together soon.

I decided to just clear the raw steel. I know it probably isn't the best durability wise, but chances are more than likely when it comes to redoing the bike I will want to try something entirely different.

I have been riding the piss out of Kali, I think she is starting to get jealous lol. I may need to take a day and get her a little bit of a tune up.

I cleared the crap out of the frame and bits that attach to it. Hopefully, it will hold up at least for a season.

The tank has been stripped, there are a few small dents here and there that need to be addressed, but I think it all will turn out well.

I can't stand it. Only a few more weeks till I get to move to somewhere with a lot more space.

Today, I was power washing a few bits after paint stripping them. A neighbor came and asked me, if I could do it somewhere else...I told her, that unfortunately I couldn't. She was nice about it but told me the noise was a bit much...I told her that I would work on keeping my "noise" down at 2pm if she could get her dogs to shut the hell up from 2am to 9am. The conversation came to a quick end at that point.

I know what you mean. I had a neighbor that stole a dog from me. Her name was Yode. She was part Cyote, digging, thieving, trash tearing ,bitch. (Yes she had puppies so she is one). ;) The old man next door came and took her off the chain. GOOD. :woohoo: He asked me if I wanted her back and I told him "you've had her 30 days, she's your dog!" That dog would bark all night until I'd yell, YODE, SHUT UP. She did. She would talk to the other cyotes at night. I don't know how people can let their dog bark all night, then complain about normal daily activities.

Take the wheels, handlebars, instruments, forks, foot pegs..etc... and swing arm off.
Get a sheet of plywood and lay the engine on it's side on it and lower the frame over the engine.
Line up what you can with drift punches or small diameter screw drivers to get three or four bolts in through frame tabs and engine castings and roll the chassis upright.

I use to have the engine on blocks next to the frame, straddle the bike and lift the engine into the frame. First I would prop it on one of the bottom rails, reach under the back bone and slide in in. I was in my Terrible 20's then and had a six pack for a belly. Now I get help.
