Steve

I will give that a shot, as I'm only midway through in my invincible 20s :D.

If not, I will try laying it on its side.

Progress! The engine went in without any trouble. Hope it will be done by Saturday.

Dom, great work! I'll try to get you a pic of my garage winch I rigged up for hoisting the engine in and out. $20 at princess auto! Foam pipe insulation works great for protecting your frame from scratches too. I'm excited to see what you do with yours!

As long as I get to learn something, I'm happy!

I'm no painter, but here is how he sits as of now.

Hey Dom, I am unsure how I missed this until now but did you cut off your header at just before the 'h' before putting on your new exhaust? The bike is sitting nice! I'm just curious if you have had to change anything to run this way. I haven't cut mine yet...

I had a set of MAC pipes off of my other 440. I cut the stock pipes right before the collector. This made them identical to the MAC headers. I do want to extend them a few inches so I can have a more stock look, but I need to find someone who knows how to weld first.

I gotcha now! I'm real curious what the bike would sound like with those short headers and shorty exhaust!

Project is dead in the water. Got everything assembled today. It fired up, idled fine. I let it run a few minutes, then let it sit, then let it run for a bit more.

When it was good and warm, I took it down the street, then the engine locked up. I have no idea what is wrong now.

So, after messing with the bike, the engine would crank, then hit a spot where it would freeze up...

I started hand crank it, but like a dumbass I broke nipple on the crank. I think I have the right part circled. How hard or difficult is it to replace?

I might have to set this bike on the back burner for a bit, I'm getting burnt out on it.

Hey Dom,

Know I am kinda digging up an older thread but wanted to say nice job on the 440, I have one and loving mine. I have the stock buckhorn bars though and really not a fan. What are the bars you had on it before you changed over to the clubman? Thats exactly what I have been thinking of and wanting. Do you still have them and might they be for sale or anything, or can point me in the right direction? Love the sound of the Mac pipes, thanks for posting up those videos!!!
