Thanks guys, there is a ton of pearl in that paint it just glows... I love it. The body shop wanted to train in a new guy with their plastic welding system so the side covers are re-enforced in the corners and behind the mounting tabs, the tail section has some re-enforcing pieces too. It took 9 months to get the parts back, but I got a good deal so I can't complain.

I'm glad I spent the time painting the engine. There is just something about a Kawasaki in green and black.... you really can't go wrong.

I put the carbs on yesterday and my last adjustments are spot on, Just waiting for the few odds and ends to put the gas tank on. Then I'm going over it from front to back and making sure all the critical bolts are tight.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Beautifully done Tyler! Green perel looks great, very tastefully done!

In the last couple of months some beautiful long term projects have reached completion. Very worthy BOTM contenders.

It's DONE! Took her out for the maiden voyage today, one short trip to the gas station. Came back full of gas, gave everything another once over, then changed oil ( I filled it with cheap 10w-40 from walmart when I put the engine together) and went for a ride around town.

I am simply stunned, this motorcycle is an awesome machine. It drives so easily, so effortlessly for its size, the ride is very smooth, and that sound....that glorious noise.... its intoxicating.

No issues on the first few runs, I hope to get on the open road for a bit this weekend.

Really I am just stunned, it rides like a Cadillac and sound like a Ferrari.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Here is a video my wife took on her phone of the maiden voyage.

Went for about a 45 minute ride today, got out in the country and ran in the rings. Pulling from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm which is from 30 to 75 in top gear then engine breaking back to 2,000 a bunch of times. This thing pulls INSANELY hard in top gear.... I never even crossed half throttle either. This is going to be a fun summer!!!!

I ran into some traffic going back through town and the fan kicked on at the stop lights, no over heating temp stayed in the mark. Got home and checked her over again, no leaks to be found. She is good to go for the season. The only problem is the fuel gauge fell to E for some reason (the tank is still 3/4 full).

I will get some finished project shots this weekend when I have time.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Swest- thanks for the link I might have to try one of those out.

After a cew rides on the road I checked the plugs and they were turing white, so I pulled the carbs last night at put 105 mains in, I also opened up the idle scres 1/4 turn to help woth cold starting. Went for a ride on the interstate today with a ferocious head wind, the 1300 pulled to about 100 like it was nothing. The wind was pretty nasty so I got back into town and rolled in home.

I need a phone app to see how fast Im going because that stupid 85 mph speedo is useless...

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.
