I noticed something else in that picture. It says baby face on the brake lever. Goo-goo gaa-gaa. Fast baby! I wish that I was a photochop expert, b/c I would fix your picture with a big ole radiator hose or a 18" section of a green garden hose. Redneck mods for extra brake fluid capacity. BTW I got the top clamp yesterday. Sadly, it won't work as the spacing is all wrong. It is beautifully machined however. I'll will PM you later to discuss.

Despite my sickly state, I did muster the energy to get some more work in on the battery box. Adam, these pictures should answer your questions about battery isolation. I can tell you that it is a tight squeeze pulling out the top cover with the Dyna 2000 box in place. Coughing, sneezing, grinding, welding, and spitting out snot rockets all the way. Evidence:

Yes, the ignition box is actually screwed down in this picture. I think that I may space it up just a little to allow some airflow under.

These rubber isolators are salvaged from the original battery box.

The plastic piece under the battery is taken from the liner on the original battery box. What you see in this picture is the bottom and one of the sides of the liner. I cut away the other three sides, and quickly flattened this out with the help of a heat gun. I'm thinking that a new rubber piece that fits better may be the ticket here, but this was free and it works.

One of the remaining plastic pieces will sit atop the battery to protect it from the Dyna screws.

Lookin good my man. That is a boat load of progress, and you say you're feeling under the weather? Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel yet? I'm still in the dark, but soon you'll be basking in the light B)

I'm seeing lights but I'm not sure if it isn't a hallucination. Can you say bronchitis? Actually, I think that I am close. Once I get done with the fabrication, it should go quickly. I have to think my way through the fab, but I have built enough motors, done enough body work, and stuck together enough vehicles that I should be able to blow through the re-finish and re-assembly stages. I do still have a few decisions to make on paint colors, and general finishes, but I have a fairly good idea what I want to do.

testerosa i use large pieces of velcro to mount my electronics like my two steps or my dyna 4000sp box it works better than mounting it solidly like you have it. it isolates from vibration and we all know what happens to electrical components with to much vibration. a side benifit it make it very easy to remove when you have to do any thing to it like change settings. i also use velcro to mount my ipod when i'm on a roadtrip for the same reason.
